Just so you know. He was spraying sugar syrup on them to keep as many from flying off as he could. Makes em a bit sticky and forces them to groom. Very cool though, I am a beekeeper myself. Just a hobby keeper; only 4 colonies.
You’re the only person I’ve seen provide any details at all about what the guy actually did to get rid of the colony 😆 so what happened do you think? Were they killed or relocated somehow?
@@markgarin6355 I doubt they let him spray poison on those bees. Probably just some organic tea to help them chill out, followed by vacuuming them into his ghostbuster canister he brought with him.
Not for me! It happened TWICE in Cincinnati at Riverfront Stadium, and I happened to be at one of those games! That time, there was a short delay while the bees settled down on the screen above and behind the visitors' on deck circle. The Reds' game eventually continued while the bee colony calmly went about its business, but a bunch of season ticket holders bailed out!

@@lIlIlIll-kg2cm Thanks for explaining that. I wasn't sure from the limited video footage of him spraying the swarm, but it was said that most of the bees had been captured in a container. So I figured they would be relocated. I assume a lot depends on the survival of the queen. Any idea if this kind of removal includes identification of the queen to ensure she's in the container with the bulk of the bees?
Lol, show up to do your job and there's camera people following your every move, drunk people cheering you on, people interviewing you. What a surreal experience for that guy I would have gone full mascot, having certain sections cheer with the raise of my hands
I give Mr. Beekeeper the respect for cleaning up a swarm of bees that delayed the game between the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks at Chase Field! Great job, Mr. Beekeeper! There was also great news that he got to throw the first pitch of the game!
Matt Hilton from Blue Sky Pest Control (Bee Keper) Did a good job. Africanized bees can be aggressive. Good he got to throw out the first pitch and recieved a autograph signed baseball.
First time in Baseball history that someone was called up from T-Ball straight to the Majors
I cant BEElieve it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Making the jump to the Majors has a whole new meaning now for this guy. The D-Backs can only hope this guy is the second coming of Albert Pujols.
Will the team offer him a contract as official Beekeeper of the Diamondbacks
😂
😅 thats a good one!
That’s awesome they had him throw out the first pitch
My idea
Who got canceled tho lol some kid?
The first time a beekeeper has ever received a standing ovation lol
That’s no beekeeper. That’s an exterminator.
Along with hes not a beekeeper. It wouldn't be the first time.
😅
I'mJjapanese but I love this kind of spontaneous American spirit that they had him throw and interviewed him as a hero.
Exactly!
Well said.

Most likely relocated, if the pest control company is smart they would work with local beekeepers to relocate swarms and hives they encounter.
Thanks, I thought it was smoke to make them sleep .
You are spot on sir.
do you normally use a shop vac to move a swarm after spraying them with that syrup?
Finally beekeepers are getting the love and respect they deserve

Atleast he can now say. "Been there, done that" whenever someone says that they wish to throw the first pitch of a MLB game.
they missed their opportunity to play “The Bee Movie” on the screen during the delay

During the start they were playing some bee songs over the PA. People were dancing and singing to it.

I love the Japanese comments loving the “American spirit” displayed here. y’all are awesome and I hope you’re having a good day in NIHON

MLBee is slow to make changes, so it took quite awhile to get someone out to handle the bee removal.
At least they're rolling back their jersey choices too
MLBee lol I dig it.
At least the beekeeper's suit wasn't made by Nike....
It's all because of the Combissioner
