    Elvis every time, but how beautiful was the youthful Brando!

    • @kingdomfreedom8323
      @kingdomfreedom8323 5 лет назад +1

      Indeed true, but Brando was vain in conceited then and character is a big part of attraction for myself. In addition 'Streetcar named Desire' so magnetic sexual allure of dominance.. I loved him in 'Mutiny on the Bounty' heroic and boldly breaking traditional roles. Caught up in the fantasy I wanted to know more, thus I read his autobiography 'mesmerized' at first but came away thinking what an all around jerk. Aside the normal infatuation 'self' glamour brings, Brando took it to a whole new level, like he was an emperor of sorts, imperial, passionate his own standards conduct his but coldly unfeeling others involved himself.
      His life story, he never mentioned his ex-wife once, her name ommitted because she divorced him for his infidelities, but first unfaithful herself..perhaps an atonement injustices felt. He thought he could do as he pleased and she would remain true, as if married to himself doing her a favor. Avid conceits there, then struck me quite callous an interloper others sense of well- being, main concern his own mental-state 'pumped', almost predatory like...one thing to possess animal-magnetism on screen, another entirely to be brutish off stage, especially when he bragged laughingly about having sex with his neighbors wife while being friends with the guy. I thought that in my personal opinion 'sick' an arrogant display of cowardice. I mean I know Hollywood is tough on keeping life real while all is illusion in-surround of self, contaminated character various ways of 'temptations' to assume nothing is of real substance or amounts to more than a passing phase. I'm just saying that, afterwards those insights, never found him attractive. I can agree chiseled features like a god but one made of stone. I think also that's why when he grew older and lost his physical appeal ....he developed a food addiction, making it worse like a penance almost.
      Anyway its enjoyable going over these stars, so reminiscent a golden era of the silver screen...debuts ongoing in the present sense.

    • @kingdomfreedom8323

      @Christine JonesJust saying and I get you...movie portrayals only import ardent enthusiast...not personal details behind the scenes.

    • @kingdomfreedom8323
      @kingdomfreedom8323 5 лет назад +1

      @Marie Smith Appreciate that. Yet not as I would like to believe, but led to believe. It must be remembered in-relation my comment was viewed in light of romanticism. A portrayal ardent emotion star-struck. The autobiography did not do justice to causes he felt strongly about. As usual per-say along the boulevard Hollywood's general shallowness of crowd-pleasers concerned only that aspect himself a heart-throb, in regards an adoring crowd of mesmerized fans. The book relayed an ommission, I found my 'cast' idol had feet of clay is all...for every strength their is a weakness in all of us and the limelight a great test for anyone's character.
      Funny to make mention worthy csuses, what attracted me most about Brando to begin were the roles 'justice sought' heroism on any scale in the first place, he played in such heartfelt an artistic light....not only handsome, strong persona 'chiseled' features but standing up against oppression. This appealed to me greatly. But like many endowed greatness in time 'power' can poison on a personal level.This reminds of the movie 'Viva Zapata!' a magnificent historical narrative based-on events., whereas the characters fight for Justice overall, but become embittered along the way., each member falling by degrees beneathe the weight of glory. Finally become as weakly frail vulnerable 'passions' the tides as current trends 'turnings' taken upon a windingly dubious road, falling away from noble ideas as their former oppressors.
      To succeed beyond ordinary measures in every area of life, a question unanswered for most of us, but stardom's introspection compares past imaginable. Its difficult to be hailed as a god then return to mortal-status, to change 'skins' literally on the surface a daily basis, atmospheric pressures expand/ contract takes its toll on many...not just Brando, but all must pass thru the fires of self-realization what is fiction as fantasy vs. what is real, thrust the middle maelstrom Fame.

    People think of Dean Martin as mostly a singer but there were times his life his face was as nice as any man could hope for. His resume included not only having been a card dealer, (and card shark), but also as a boxer then a male model, and also a stand up comedian. He was also in the process of being the leading man with Marilyn Monroe in a movie at the time she died. They were prepared to replace her and continue on but Dean Martin said no, and walked away from it. I remember for a while he was called the highest paid entertainer in the world and when his song, "Everybody loves somebody", bumped, "The Beatles" out of 1st place, he called both Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley to joke about it. Elvis always called Dean Martin "The coolest man alive". I met Dino in Century City at "Carmines" Italian Restaurant , we shook, hands we talked and he put my business card in this wallet with about a 1/2 inch of other people's cards.
