Spinazzola's injury took away some bite in the latter stages of the tournament but with Chiesa we still had a very good attacking threat. Now with him out we looked bereft of ideas and very blunt. Sadly these pacy players tend to lose a half a step after a serious ACL injury. Even the great O fenomeno (who is the more talented Ronaldo by the way) lost his frightening pace after those injuries, even though he was still pretty quick. Hope he can get back to his best.

I had no idea Italy would take such a huge blow from Chiesa’s injury. Just shows you how important he is to the team.
