Absolutely gorgeous, I really like the sleeper look with the modern drive train, classic looks with modern reliability and economy to boot.Nice job guys 👍
Thats my grandpa's and man does it look and sound great. So happy for him.
Michael Gaudio I'm assuming he's happy with how it drives now?
Beautiful! I wish my dad had kept his '56 Chevy. Sadly he sold it when I turned 14 for $200 to some guy who drove by and saw it parked. Straight 6 with three on the tree...
who could not like a masterpiece like this
Beautiful car and love the fact it’s a driver!!! So awesome!!! Great job and a really lovely couple to boot!!!
Man that's one beautiful 56 Chevy man and that LS3 is a beast.
Beautiful job, thank you Chip, love your work!
Gorgeous car!
Agreed MoldingPro wish we could seen more of the car
It’s no wonder that couple has been married so long. They both enjoy things together. Nice work Chip and crew. ☠️
The 56 was by far the best of the 3 year run of this body style. When they did away with the 'dual eyebrow' dash in 57 that kind of killed it for me.
Wrong it was the 55 GM got it right the first time.
Beautiful job you and troy are my favorite builders
That’s a beautiful car, tastefully done!!
the best thing that Chevy and Ford have taken out of my favorites along with the model 57 although sometimes I usually confuse the Chevy with the Ford since the front is very similar
Its amazing to think that these beautiful machines can be built to better than brand new specifications.
If done correctly and with a rev limiter in place new v8 low reving engines could outlast the owners.
PS you're the man Chip you're the only one I would let touch my truck. But I'm back into reality I don't see no chance of that ever happening appreciate you sharing Love your work I watched all of the overhauling man I love your show. Your work is just spectacular hope to see more
fantastic,, the best I've seen. I like that it doesn't have mag wheels
He delivers big smiles on people faces with out a doubt .
Wow! What a beauty.
This is done perfectly. Looks nice and factory but got all the reliability of a newer car
Stunning!
How much did it all cost?
You guys did this car just to make cry! I love that color and the 2-door sedan body style. Beautiful. I'm so glad not to see the 2 straight chrome exhaust extensions that are seem on EVERY classic Chevy. Honestly though, I'm okay with modern conversions, and I know people like that hot-rodded sound, but to me these cars were elegant and should sound "elegant". I would want the exhaust muffled wisper quiet and very little noise in the cabin.
Beautiful work
i want a car like this so bad i could cry
Chip Foose seems able to do just about anything in the Automotive World. But can he really make any car great? Try a late 70s to early 80s Impala, and make it look good?
OMG... what a beauty 😍
the 55’s and 57’s are popular but I think the 56 is prettier,....nice job...
57 was a breakthrough year when the Steel companies figured out how to reduce the tears during stamping as the mental stretched.
The fins and styled fenders were because the designers knew the metal would stretch. Ford tried it earlier but the Throw-away rate reduced profits where the 55-56's Ford's and the new T-bird had bland fenders and body lines.
Even the glass makers figure out how the make a 1-piece windshield with no distortions on the curves for a A-pillars.
That is a true dream Car!
Thanks Chip!
The perfect sleeper !
I love it just like that!
My favorite year Tri-5......👍
That's a beauty right there !!! ...
I learned to drive in a '56 Bel Air.
I learnt on a 63 by myself on a 63 after some lessons how the clutch works almost killed the battery haha
Lucky you
pure gangster style and looks elegant
✨ Beautiful !!!
Beautiful Car guys..
WOWZERS
Sweet!
Really nice but I hope they cleaned the windows. Driver side rear window looked like a smoker had it for spin.
Weeooow!!! Spoken from a true cougar...
Should have put the smaller steering wheel in the car, looks the same smaller diameter, no need to wrestle with the car any more.
The big ol steering wheel looks a lot nicer in these cars. My 67 c10 has that big ol original steering wheel and no powersteering. Pretty easy to turn the wheel. Plus this car has power steering so I'll bet you can street it with a pinkie. Ain't no wrestling with this car
@@DreamHachi You made my point, the steering wheels were that big for leverage to get around in a parking lot, with no power steering. In the older cars they were huge. I had a 54 Bel air and a 72 C-10, the wheel in the truck was much smaller than in my 54. With the power steering in this car the old huge steering wheel is not necessary. Aftermarket smaller diameter steering wheels that look exactly the same for the tri - 5 cars are available, People are not used to seeing such huge steering wheels any more and they look out of place in today's world.
Are you using an electronic accelerator pedal assembly on that LS swap? How did you mount it? Does it come with the wiring harness?
Its an ls3...😎👊🏻
John, yes it is an electronic accelerator assembly. We made a bolt on mount that bolts to the firewall. It does not come with the wiring harness. To make it appear stock we made an arm off the LS pedal so the stock pedal pushes on it.
Wonder what that cost?
I wish I had money to fix up my 64 galaxie foose quality.
What is the glass fan looking thing on the dash...
It's a traffic light finder. The roof line on 50's cars is so forward that if you're first in line at a red light you can't see it unless you duck down and look up. I had one on my '56 Olds and it really worked great.
@@michaeledwards4662
A prism, picking up and magnifying the colors of the traffic light...
Man I would b the happiest man alive if they came & picked up my 84 Caprice & made it the fastest donk in Denver, Co!!!!! (wink, wink!!!!) Lmao!!!! Come pick it up guys!!! See you soon!!! Beer & mexican dinner on me!!!!! 😉😎
It had no vibrations until he flat spotted the tires.
Wow just don't make them like that no more, I'm old school Love the 55 and 56 and 57's Love to do up a motor like this one for my 2001 Silverado Z 71 that would be my dream, my truck got from North Carolina I live in Manchester Michigan bought it used a little over a year ago. Man I couldn't believe it crawled underneath clean as a whistle I do mean clean no surface rust on the frame nowhere headed under coated all I did was put a Colin induction hood painted to match it's just got the 5.3 it is a beautiful truck the color is pewter. Black leather seats Love this truck no flaws in the body anywhere except one little spot passenger side just under the door handle one tiny little round dead a awesome motor done up would finish my truck for sure.
For a second there I thought you said no flaws,oh well whatever, still sounds nice.
I Love foose
NICE CAR BUT THE CONTENT LEFT SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED.
Someday will get to shake your hand...
👍
old man enjoys his last bits of wealth before the end.
Stupid Amazing,
Subtle and not over the top.
Kinda felt bad for the gal as they first looked at the car. Looked like she thought she needed to say something appreciative for the camera, but everything they changed was under the sheet metal.
WHY do all of these start with extended selfies of him instead of the car we clicked here to see?
Bitchin'.
chromes out of line on right front door and fender
Not feel like it is a modern car only way better.
Nice! But presumably at 2:37 they brought it back to fix that god-awful noise!??
That would be Chip grinding on an anvil in the background.

Some people🙄😂🤣
why cant LEAVE CLASSIC CARS STOCK ???
Because then you can't drive them daily daaa.
Jeffery Schirm Dont want to drive daily why cant leave them stock in the time period they were built
could of just went to Barrett Jackson and bought one for way way less.
Anyone can put a LS motor in a car, boring, I like to old engines uniquely modified, do something original with your drive train.
It's not a 56 Bel Air anymore.
@@Properformancenutritioncom Haha, what? Those cars are probably some of the most-often motor swapped cars in automotive history. Whether you like it or not is up to you. Saying it's no longer what it is demonstrates a limited perspective. We have no idea what was swapped out of it. Might not have even been a Chevy motor by now. So putting an LS in it may have made it more "true to brand". We don't know. And the upgrades to brakes and steering make the roads safer for all of us.
@@lt7automotive931 I do not disagree with you at all. I can see what you're saying. I think people should do whatever they want to do with their cars. I was expressing my personal feeling towards the build because I'm one of those nostalgic cry babies. If I want to drive a 56 Bel Air, I want to drive a 56 Bel Air and experience the car the way someone would have when it was new. But I'm sure the upgrades Chip did would be a blast to drive as well. Another classic back on the road is a good thing either way. As far as brakes and steering go, they worked just fine back then. As long as you understand what you're driving you're good to go. I've got drums all the away around in my 67 c10 and they work great with the 250. With the LS you have to upgrade everything though. I trust myself with drum brakes in the front but I don't trust other people.
Car is great, sound quality sucks.
I would be way better with original drive train in it and worth way more too
With the original 265 V8 and cast iron 2spd powerglide, the client would not have been able to drive his vehicle comfortably and economically to Palm Desert. We simply came up with a modern solution to his request by installing the LS3 / 4L65E Connect & Cruise package from GM performance. He will be able to get a moderate 26-28 mpg on the highway in overdrive with the A/C on while listening to his satellite radio, all of which was tastefully installed so as not to take away from the beauty of the classic that it is.

STOCK SUCKS!!!
3000lbs, I doubt that..
Swapping V8 👎
How much y’all think chip charging for restoration ? 30k
I'm thinking a lot more than that
$1million is his starting price.
@@YoungoneYoung-lm4xe Is that for real? yikes Id be afraid to drive a million dollar car.
