Let me begin by thanking you. The fact that anybody reached your video is testimony enough that it was what they like me now needed at that time. Being a vipasana brother I would request you to make the same video with audio instructions maybe 30 sec at the start of each 5 min gong. That would address most of our friends concern and I also feel it would be beneficial to me too. So if possible do consider it. Thx again for being thoughtful enough to Do this much also. Shows how much progress you have made.

Dear (Calm is a superpower) Dhamma brother, thank you for your kind comment and words.
Love your RUclips name : ). Indeed, as pointed out 2,500 years ago, _The highest welfare is a mind that is unshaken by life's vicissitudes_ This is my favorite Dhamma quote.
Regarding your request about adding audio instructions, please forgive me for being reluctant.
      Two reasons:
      (1) I feel that by doing so it could become a copyright violation. Already one of my earlier videos which had Goenkaji's chantings at the opening and closing was removed by RUclips at a copyright violation and resulted in a strike against my channel.
      (2) I feel I may be moving into guide or instructor territory, and I 100% don't want to do that. I want to remain a serious practitioner.
Trust you will understand my thinking
      Two Suggestions:
      (1) Write to the higher ups you know in the organization making a similar request. I did this before I made my video. I did not get a response, so I ended up making this video using only my memory.
      (2) Do what I did; just record the instructions yourself - _any smart phone is good enough_ - with suitable 5-minute gaps. And use along with the video.
Thank you again for reaching out. METTA

Ellery Hart. Thank you for your message and inquiry.
      1. Regarding " _Only Silence throughout. No voice of Goenka_ ", I had made an earlier video with Goenkaji's opening chanting, closing Metta. This video was removed by RUclips for copyright violation. That is why it is not available on my channel anymore.
      2. Regarding " _You are expected to read the meditation instructions_ ", these are not intended to be instructions. They are intended to be reminders to me, as to where to continue. Alas, I have a relentlessly wandering mind. When I snap out of a reverie, I've often forgotten where I was before drifting away. So I briefly open my eyes and reset to whatever I see on the screen. Rather than starting from the head to toes, part-by-part, again and again and again.

Vri is doing well for vipassana. I think. We should follow only.
Pujya Gurujis words are sufficient. We should just experience these all .
Then after that think of others including oneself.
I think this type of work is a unaware step toward dilution of this vidhya , technique...
Please don't take it otherwise. Think seriously.

      Carlos e Perez:
Thank you for your comment and query. Much appreciated. It has been asked before.
      Brief Answer
My mind wanders relentlessly. There were many times when entire 60-minutes sittings were lost to my wandering mind. This was unacceptable and unsustainable. I made this video to bring my mind back to meditation every five minutes. I also found that to be systematic and complete, I required reminders of the instructions. When my mind wanders, and I hear the gong, I start-again at the current instructions. I glimpse at them very briefly and then close my eyes and continue. This approach helps me. Without these instructions, I was restarting every time with part-by-part top-to-bottom. And not having a systematic and thorough sitting.
Hope this provides an adequate explanation. METTA

Why not long course sir or sattipatthana?

    • @RashidKapadia
      @RashidKapadia  4 года назад +1

      Hello Chirag1id.
Thanks for your question. I think you are asking me why I have not completed a long course or satipatthana course. If I've understood correctly, here's my answer
One must finish minimum 3 x 10 day courses before being accepted to Satipatthana. After I completed 3 courses, I wanted to complete the Satipatthana course, but these are conducted only once a year. So I applied for the March 2020 course. And was accepted. Unfortunately it was cancelled due to Coronavirus. Meanwhile after completing 3 10 day courses, I continued to apply for 10 day courses, and was fortunately able to attend two more in 2019.
Regarding 20 days long course, the requirements are
      * Must have sat at least five 10-Day courses with Goenkaji or one of his assistant teachers.
      * Must have sat at least one Satipatthana Sutta Course.
      * Must have served at least one 10-Day course.
      * Maintenance of daily practice of two hours per day for at least 2 years.
After I complete the Satipatthana course, probably 2021, I will apply for a 20 day long course.
You must also be a long term student and practitioner. Am I right?

This does not have any sound by purpose?

    • @RashidKapadia
      @RashidKapadia  3 года назад

By choice, the only sound in this video is the gong. One gong sound every five minutes. And three continuous gong sounds after 60-minutes--to indicate that an hour has been completed. No opening chanting or closing metta.
Side note: in an earlier similar video, I had opened with a short Goenkaji chanting and closed with a short Goenkaji metta segment. That video was removed by RUclips for copyright violation and resulted a RUclips copyright strike against my RUclips channel.
