one thing i love about jerry is that he will often pull out a new riff for under the solo. and so the solo takes on a bridge quality and a new life of its own.
This is rad! Nice lesson. You go through the whole song piece by piece, taking your time but not beating any dead horses. I've literally only been "playing" guitar for four days so it'll be some time before I'm up to this skill level, but you've given me a wonderful goal!
Needed to revisit playing this song. Just saw them last night in Washington state. Out of 7 times seeing them (3 with Layne) that was the best sounding show they've done. Absolutely killer! But we were dead center just forward of the mixing console, which is the sweet spot of any concert.
Jerry, please tell us some info on your guitar. I love that guitar. What's the details of it? Woods, electronics, who made it? Thank you and thanks for these videos.
Hey Bill! It was built by a UK Luthier called Dave Walsh who builds guitars under his Eternal Guitars brand. It's all mahogany, rosewood board and a single Bareknuckle pup. It's an absolute rock machine and great fun to play. You can check his website out here www.eternal-guitars.com/
@@AllGamingStarred tune your entire guitar a half step down then the E (or D# as it would be then) goes down another two steps (or frets worth). So it’s Drop D but then the entire guitar goes down half a step (or one fret). Hope that helps!
Ahmed Klai thanks buddy glad you liked it! Thanks for the suggestion, at the mo I’ve got a load of Patreon requests that I prioritise so feel free to join us over there 🤘😀
Chris Lay haha hey Chris, yea it’s a one off for sure, that’s what I liked about it! It’s a custom guitar I picked up second hand, made by a UK luthier called Dave Walsh under his Eternal Guitars brand. The brief was a Les Paul Jnr that plays like an SG....with a tele body. It’s an absolute rock machine!
Amp with Friedman BE-OD i think for this, i use that for all my Jerry tones! My amp is a Victory V40 so it does have a mid boost setting which i leave on but with EQ pretty much all at noon
Place your first finger on the root note (say 5th fret on lowest string) and either your ring or little finger on the 7th fret on the 4th string (D string). Now what you want to do is mute the string in between (the A string in this case) - if you get the angle of your first finger right it should deaden this and that’s your octave! Hope it helps 🤘
@@r.l.erdody7726 Lol almost 3 years later, you may be a bit late, though I still appreciate it bro. The problem was I was still so new to guitar I had no dexterity or strength since i was only playing for like 2 months at the time. Crazy to think that was almost 3 years ago. Time seriously goes so fast.
Jerry is the RIFF MASTER and the most underrated of all time.
Tommy D yea very cool player, and super melodic too!

What guitar model is that? My brain rejected it. Gibson Cabronita Jnr?

The solo is actually a mix of 6/4 and 4/4 with the last tiny bit 2/4
you're a champ!
Cheers Lazlo!
Glad to see Louis Ck is branching outside of stand up
0:40 Down another step or down one halfstep?
@@NPC-30 ah mis spoke down 1/2 step. Need to redo this one as I think some tab isn’t bang on either haha

@@LetsPlayAll wow thank you so much
Noel and jerry they just love unicend bends ah ?
god is it just me or am i playing the main riff wrong because it really hurts my ring finger doing the 3 string power chords
i tend to use my pinky rather than my ring finger if that helps! comfier for me
@@LetsPlayAll i will try that later. Thank you for the help.
if your guitar has high action itll be harder, but with a really nice guitar playing drop C# outta be pretty easy
