I've wrapped the yarn around the rope as I stitched to get the effect of having it on both sides. It looks pretty cool but it is very time consuming. Because yarn is so skinny, it takes much longer than adding wrapped fabric. I'm trying Rick's method this weekend! Big plus was new ways (to me) of how to finish off the rope. In my last basket, I made a mess of sewing down the end.
Can you tell me how you attach the straw to your sewing machine for the yarn … I can’t see the path from the bowl behind the machine to the front of the machine … thanks.
What size of cord? Is it a cotton wrapped polyester, .25”, what type of yarn? Polyester, 4 ply? What size of needle? 90/14? Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
The jig is brilliant! Thank you for showing that!
Awesome instruction! Thank you.
Great video. Can't wait to try one.

Just had fun making my first bowl. Maybe should not have used constrasting thread for my first try but it allowed me to see the stitches for practice.
Thank you so much for such a detailed video. Your explanation is so clear. I am learning so much.
What a great video! Thank you!
What type of yarn do you use?

Duh .. I should have watched it to the end where you show how it was set up … thank you.
what length and width do you use on your zig zag stitch. I saw one post that says to use a width of 5 and length of 3 and I find that to be way to big
I use a 4.5 width.
