Let’s all give a big round of applause to Pixal, for being the most frequent brain cell wielder. If the writers didn’t make her a side character, every season would have probably ended way too quickly due to her logic alone.

That being said, the trauma squad (Zane, Nya, and Lloyd) tend to be entrusted as the braincell wielders most often
Nya is canonically a human, and like all humans, her intelligence developed as the series progressed. She displayed an amazing amount of intelligence in seasons 8-9, for example, and I think that intelligence remained very prevalent throughout the post-season 7 era.
Cole is the best I love it when he blatantly insults people without realizing he’s blatantly insulting people e.g. Nya: why are ships always called ‘she’ Cole: cause it takes a lotta paint to make em look good 🤷🏽
Zane definitely holds the braincell of the team and anyone trying to claim otherwise is just being completely disingenuous. It's stated multiple times that Zane is the smart and intelligent one of the group, so idk how some people even come to another conclusion. It's like either they were watching a different show, didn't watch the show completely, or are only a remembering a few dumb scenes, amongst the many displays of intelligence and are therefore just being biased. Sure he isn't socially smart and all but that doesn't take away the fact that he is the knowledgeable and intelligent one for sure and the one to usually always figure, understand or decipher something first.

I remember in episode 136 prime empire when cole asked okino which way they are going when unagami pause the ninja you can see nya scratch her head that makes me realise that nya is not intelligent anymore
It's heartbreaking when nya leaves the team when she becomes one with the sae to save Jay's life but she had to leave the team because she was water 💧 💔 the ending was super sad
The ocean makes lightening flashes brighter, lightening always tries to reach for the ocean ( which represents Jay trying to get with Nya ) and electric water helped against some enemies made out of snakes (forgot the name of them) , and lastly we shouldn’t be judging ships just because of their powers cause what?? that doesn’t even make sense (Sorry for the long rant lol)
