That was a great equation about how to build self confidence. I never heard anyone present it that way before. I developed self confidence by having supportive mentors through volunteer work and my university. Over time, I learned to be more comfortable with myself and not afraid to "take up space." I always had good self esteem thanks to my loving father, but a lot of bullying and negativity in my younger years did damage to the self confidence. Life is better when you do find that courage to say to the world, "This is me. This is who I am. If you don't like me, you're welcome to not know me." All the best to you! Your mom is so wonderful, helping you ease into a few new ways of doing things. Enjoy your toast! I use mine almost every day. Toast is the best! A half of a whole wheat English muffin, toasted with a bit of peanut butter and jelly and a sliced pear is one of my favorite breakfasts. Low calorie, low sodium, filling and easy. Maybe add a scoop of cottage cheese for protein.
Ms. Fierce, I am confident you're going to surprise yourself with how well you're going to handle this. The key hurdle is being able to adapt. You'll have to make do with simplified, streamlined versions of things that you used to accomplish with assistance. Your creativity will help you get more done. When we rely on others, we sometimes don't always challenge ourselves to the furthest extremes if we have someone to fall back on. Once you're making do and you have no choice, believe me, you will figure out how to make _something_ happen! It won't be the same as when Mom was helping, but it will get the job done. You're going to make this work. It won't be all tackled in a day. But you've got this!
I'm beginning to realize that I don't need my mom for everything. I can accomplish something and then tell my mom about it. Whenever that may be. And then we can both be proud. But maybe me a little bit more so because I did that on my own without her help
No way Jose is Patti old enough to retire!😮 I can see how these changes are a big deal for you both. Natalie FIERCE is courageous 🦁 You two are a great team and I'm sure you'll work through this transition with love ❤ and reach the right solutions for you both. Natalie, we have faith in you too. Go forward and be your awesome self 🎉💪✨️ Big hugs from across the pond. Tania 🤩💫✨️
Yes, she is old enough to retire. Her birthday is actually tomorrow! I definitely have some struggles, but thank you for believing that I can do this! I have faith in myself too and I know that I can do it.❤️😊
I have faith in you to accomplish all that you want to do. My grandson has Cerebral Palsy. He can only feed himself with finger food. He doesn't talk or walk. He will be 20 years old soon, and I love him dearly.
My dad is retiring next month. I live on my own with caregivers. I have only needed caregivers for the last 8 yers when my mom passed away. I was used to having more independence before my body lost the plot and I got extra problems with cp. I think you will do well. I enjoy meal prep. My favourite is pet care I can cope with cats on my own. It is hard for my dad to be aging and it gets easier as you go. I want to be as independent as I can be. I worry about not being able to look after him when he gets older but I figure keeping as independent as I can will do that in a way. I deal with most medical stuff. My dad help me by driving the van at the moment to the appointments as I can’t get out of my wheelchair anymore into a normal car. The transport infrastructure is a bit rubbish where I live on the availability of accessible transport is seriously lacking, so I am hoping to be able to sort out that at some point. I always will teach you recording device with you for appointments and I also utilise my iPhone to show me where appointments are due. I share a calendar with everybody who helps me as well, which has been very helpful.
I think you are going to do great Natalie. It is until we step outside our comfort zone that we find out just how strong we are and how capable we are. You've got this
That brave yellow toaster will come in handy for meal planning, Natalie! You got this!!! You can make all sorts of things in that - my personal fave is frozen cinnamon waffles...mmm.

Thank you for all the great advice. I just have to be not afraid to try new things all the time
@@Natalie.Fierce here's another thing to try: peach preserves with peanut butter. It's very nice. All the best!

Hey Natalie. Just had a shower after work. My parents are both retired. I learned self confidence by trying to be independent since i went to college
❤️
Happy independence day to you Natalie, and Happy retirement to your mom and dad!!!
Thank you
What a wonderful independence enabling gift! You can make more toast!
Thanks I think. I’ve been working on it. It’s going OK.
I like it when you find ways to empower yourself by taking charge of your life. Incidentally, nice toaster, pretty color. Toast is so yummy
Even though it’s scary to take charge of my life, I have to do it! I love my new toaster!
