This video gives me wanderlust! I always think about riding bikes through a lava field on the Big Island of Hawaii, where it was just this endless field of shiny blackness. At the end of the trail, we could glimpse fresh lava spilling into the ocean in the distance, creating new land, steam rising up. Thanks for sharing your travel experiences and asking such thoughtful questions! :)

Apologies for the crappy audio quality again. It was recorded in a guesthouse surrounded by pillows and I tired my best lol.

My husband and I went to Iceland last year and had similar feelings! The nature is so beautiful that even traveling around to things was an aesthetic experience. We also checked out some museums in Reykjavik. We really liked Kjarval's work. But the panoramic views that you have to really work to find are out most memorable parts of the visit.

Oooh nice did you guys drive around the ring road too? =D I wish we had more time as we missed a lot of stuff in the east and north. But overall I am glad we did the whole island.

my favorite place to visit was the "Evergreen Aeronautics and Space Museum" in Mac Minnville, Oregon; just southwest of Portland.
my favorite campground was a county park in Orange County, Fordia; just south of Mt Dora. it is what i consider PARADISE.

    Welcome to Europe! :)
My memory is also deteriorating as well, so I know exactly how you feel. :-/
One travel memory that comes to mind is Naples 17 years ago; there was this storm with really hard winds and when I tried to fall against the wind I wouldn't fall over, the wind pushed me right back up.
I don't know if that's my most memorable one, but it is the one that came to mind right now.

Wow that's crazy! I guess those types of weather anomalies can indeed be memorable. Thanks for sharing! I certainly hope to visit Europe more and in more places in the future!

Yes, it is the things that are not planned that are most memorable. :)
You should make colab videos with Karin of LittleArtTalks and visit Europe together, she was in Paris recently. :D

My family went to Canada on a road trip in a camper van in 2004, and again in 2014. Both times were fantastic. I love mountains more than any other landscape type, I think.

Oh awesome which places in Canada did you visit? Was it Alberta and BC?

I can't remember our exact route from 2004 but I know it was in the east - we saw Niagara Falls, Toronto, and Montreal for sure. I can't remember if we went up to Quebec or not - it was a long time ago! And in 2014 we were over in the west. The Rockies, Banff, Victoria Lake (my sister was so excited about that - turned out that it had been her desktop background for a long time when she was a kid!), Hell's Gate, and Vancouver. I have vlogs from our trip on my channel if you're really interested. ;) They were both amazing holidays.

A memorable travel of experience of mine was going to the Chicago Field Museum a month ago, and seeing the Hyena diorama. Because Brain Scoop nerds on RUclips made it happen!! I personally didn't donate to the indigogo that funded it (I didn't even know it was a thing) but I knew Brain Scoop fans funded it. Seeing it irl was like seeing the evidence that online communities can make tangible differences for good just as in-person communities can!
Also lets not forget all my travel adventures to vidcon. Those are always memorable!

ReadHeadPat I was just at the Field Museum for the first time a week and a half ago and did the same thing! And looked at the rest of the place, too, as much as I could. It's really expansive!

It really is! I read that only 1% of their artifacts are on display. can you imagine how much stuff they got in storage?!

Ah yes I still haven't gone to the Field Museum yet since the hyena diorama went up. I totally love Chicago as a whole and will have to make this the number one thing on my list next time i go!
