Bethany, Thank you so much for the tips. I haven't thought about crossposting. I will take these tips and use them to build a good relationship with companies, indie authors, and building my following. I was thinking about compiling a list of smaller publishing companies. I am very excited to implement these tips.

I loved this video! I don’t know if other people feel same as me, but for me I don’t really have a interest in reading arcs. It is a nice perk, but I feel booktube is saturated with new release culture. I find myself torn between keeping up with new releases, but it is so hard to keep up. With making videos, a lot times with super new release books most people haven’t read them, unless they are super popular releases . At least with backlist titles, they tend to be cheaper and more accessible. Additionally more people have read them! I am really struggling on how I want to prioritize the new releases that I go for. I thought talked about the newest releases would drive more traffic to my channel, but I found myself burning out because the rate that I had to read to keep up was unsustainable in the long run. Thoughts?

Hey. I think you are very privileged to live in America, in regards to this kind of things. I think it would be very, very hard to build a platform in Holland for anything, not just things like Booktube. I know a Streamer who could get so many more views if he would just talk in English. Ok, that didn't make a lot of sense, but maybe you know where I'm coming from. It's easier to build a platform if more people are likely to be interested.
It nice to see things have taken off for you!

I do think it helps living here, but I think the language is probably the bigger thing because there are quite a number to successful booktubers in the UK and Australia among others. That said, there is a surprising large Spanish Booktube with creators from South America! So I think there is space for lots of different things.

On of the things I would also say is that if you really didn’t like it DNFd a book, get in touch with the publicist again and explain why you won’t be posting a positive review or why you’ve opted not to leave a review on your platform, they get that not every book is for everyone. Also don’t tag the authors in those negative reviews, some authors really don’t like being tagged in reviews at all, some love it so they can share, generally they’ve made their stance pretty clear on social media so you can find that our before tagging them.

Love love all this B!! I think the one caveat like you stated early in the video is BE CAREFUL how many you ask for! You may get approved of them all and now, there is the expectation that you review those books. It can get overwhelming if you let it!

This video was SO helpful and actually gives A LOT of helpful advices and insight! As a beginner in the bookish world this video not only gave me SO much information I have never had the chance to get from anywhere and anyone else, but it motivated me to reach out and see what opportunities are out there! Even though I am based in the UK, your tips definitely are universal and I imagine would work everywhere, as long as the publishers/authors/etc. have collaborations and similar activities going on!!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 💓

These are some great tips! I've been a little reluctant to start using NetGalley because of my current TBR overload, but maybe I should just to start building a relationship with publishers. I do also like the idea of working with smaller publishers!

Nice advice for reviews and explaining how to accomplish due dates for commentaries about books. As a composer of original music themes for book trailers about comics that are performed on the guitar, your explanations are very insightful to those for make book trailers that promote stories. Also, I liked your personality and excitement about how to reivew stories which inspires musicians like me who perform original music that represents such excitement for stories and promotes characters. So many thanks and nice tip about not only focusing on what's hot. Cheers!

I did the wrong thing when starting to use Netgalley, because I was thinking I need to read some of the read now books that are available for everyone - to build up a feedback rate, but wasn't super interested in actually reading them and added way too many to my reading list/kindle, and now I'm stuck with 15 or so unread titles and only 4 read and I'm really not interested in the others. So I'd definitely say to minimize the amount you add, so as not to end in a similar situation as me.

Your Amazon wish list link just takes the person to their own wish list. I think you have to go to your wish list, hit the "Send list to others" in the upper right-hand corner, click view only, and copy the link they give you :)
