To coast on the ships, you simply need to make a group with all the foward facing thrusters and, whenever you want to coast, you turn that group off. That will make you glide using only your momentum. You just need to remember to turn the group back on when you want to break.
Your tunnel drilling ship should be called the frother, and the drones should be called coffee beans if you're trying to keep to a coffee theme that it's. Personally, that's is.
Lol.. I had a bad feeling when you shot the camera of that turret... I was like; "that's gonna bite him in the..." and I could not even finish my sentence. 😂 Btw, When building these Ball turrets, I prefer to add the small head to the hinge (using the option), then add a few blocks with a magplate to that, lock it to the floor, grind away the hinge head again and replace it with a small hinge head - so easy to attach without risking your drones or ships. (This probably does not make sense at all... lol)
It hurts me though to see him only use 4 turrets when you can fit up to 8 on a custom turret. I even have one I've personally published to the workshop with 6 autocannons and 2 gatlings on the same head, and a small grid custom turret controller inside.

Actually, they didn't use bulbs on search lights in WW2. They used carbon arc lamps which were a very stark bluish white. My dad used to repair them and at one point was tempted to purchase one from McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA, where I was born. [I wasn't specifically born on a search lamp, naturally, but I was born at Mercy General Hospital in East Sacramento]

The high powered 10 KW arc beams can readily light up stuff in low orbit [based on a factor where confining power into a really tight beam like that can greatly increase its total range, along with specially ground first surface mirrors]. So basically, a 1.9x power boost, along with the right mirror arrangement can actually triple the potential range from 1:1 to 1.9:1 and reach as much as 19 or more miles up [100,320 feet plus] depending on atmospheric conditions. So yeah... A carbon arc search light can really help you spot enemies way out there, for relatively low power. (~_^)-b

And my farm runs on 300 amps worth of service, which at 220 volts is 66 KW, so I could run 6 space faring spotlights and still run the fridge, the microwave, all 3 computers, the air conditioner and the well pump without throwing a breaker.

Pilots are trained first to know how to navigate, second, rely on their instruments, third, air control systems which are constantly in contact with them. Unless its some novice individual who has no legitimate piloting training and experience, there is no way they will mistake a search light for an airport stationing beacon. Even if every instrument on your plane failed, the green and white rotating beacon can never be mistaken for a search light.

Those welders in the hanger would work well with projectors set up as repair projectors. Dock ship turn on projector and welder should put back missing blocks
When the welder ship flipped out, it was possibly because the hinge was off 180° on the Z-axis and the unlocked hinge + rotor allowed things to move when attaching. Hinges have a tick marker on their 'front' side which helps to avoid this situation if you did not already know.
Oh also id recomend repair projectors at the solar towers as well make set angles for everything then blueprint. It shoul blueprint entire base so only one projector in the center maybe in the tunnel should work
just make the hanger into two hangers.. to stop venting the entire base.. what if you had people in there man..! what if.. haha also, add decoys nearby the bases and solar array.
if you place your repair welder in the floor its better this way most of the welded area will be on your ship, the way you did it only a third of the area impact your ship

U really should repair AMG and reused it as a musem, or u could reused it as an exploration ship to the space to get some material that isn't available at the planet basically turning it into a huge cargo ship to space, i mean it already have a miner ship on it, making the AMG Sandstorm as a space cargo vessel means u won't need to go to space frequently to get material

I am running into this same issue, the hack button isnt setup, when pressed it wants you to set actions. I wish Andrew explained how the button was setup
What if you added gimbals to the auto cannons so they could point inwards more and center their fire. Can you lock them so they don't move? Would make hitting targets at range more accurate. But you would have to sight them in at a certain range for both circles to overlap.

If not, its cool, of course, but it would be way cool to see what kinds of scenarios of epic heroic, and yet poetic, maybe even 'romantic' [not 'kissy-kissy' romantic, but more like nostalgic] story lines you might be able to dream up and make into some kind of well developed dramatic tale. I'm sure you know who Ball-and-Chain Gaming are, and how they made some genuinely dramatic productions, it was probably really difficult, but it was super well produced, and very entertaining.
This is my personal opinion, but I don’t thing you should use the AMG sandstorm. Maybe use it for resources, but I feel like it defeats the purpose of a new series if you use the same stuff. Maybe scrap it for resources, but I think it would be cool to leave the exterior the same so it looks to the nonexistent people of the future in this world that the ship crashed, and some random scavengers took all the valuable stuff and left the shell.

Repairing the ship will be a huge set forward and you now have a mining ship that you can control.

If you have the blueprint for the sandstorm you should use a projector onboard to make the repairs easier, will take you all day to repair it without

That's not a bad idea. Lots of the original H2 thrusters are completely gone, but it is Europa so it might not take much to get it to fly again.
