So you have to commit yourself and your group to a day at a specific park if you book the LL in advance? I guess you pay for it at point of booking as well.
Yep. It's the same as the old fastpass system.
If I'm staying off site will there be a big disadvantage?
Onsite guests can buy Lightning Lane 7 days in advance and 3 days for off site. We don't know yet if Disney will keep any allocation back or if everything good will go quickly
Depends what month you are going. If its in peak season then possibly but if not i dont think you will have an issue i never have when we have gone in September. We even managed to get on tron during mickeys not so scary. My advice is just get as much info before you go that way your prepared. Depends if you want to pay extra money for fast passes also.. not everyone is willing to do that. To be honest i dont think much as changed other than being a non hotel guest you can book rides 3 days before visiting the parks if you pay for the privilege to do so that way your not on your phone booking rides during your visit.
