I'm always watching your vlogs out of order, lol! TWD is a favorite of ours. We're a Christian family as well and I was browsing through the comments... Everyone who watches know it's NOT about the walkers! 😉 But on a serious note. I have one little, a 7 year old, the rest are high-school and older. People are always stunned that I let him watch TWD, amongst other things. My hubby and I decided long ago that we would not expect society to conform to our beliefs and how we raise our children. And realistically we could not run around trying to shield them from everything in this world. My kids (especially my little) knows this show is pretend. The walkers are wearing make-up and anytime the show delves into something "inappropriate", we use it as an opportunity to educate our children. Many Christians I know and grew up with went to great lengths to shield their kids from the world, only to have it backfire. Making things 'forbidden' much more attractive to their kids and when it was time for them to go out into the world, they received some rude awakenings! So yeah, loooonnnggg story short... I saw people questioning you a bit and wanted to offer up MY outlook. I'm not saying you share these thoughts but just wanted to give some belated perspective. 😄 As always, love your channel!
Actually, I was reading your comment and thought I could have written it myself! Amen! We don't watch a lot of tv, but Tom saw TWD at a customer's house and was interested. When we first let the kids watch it, we also watched how each episode was made so they could see for themselves how "not real" it is. I have noticed them becoming much _less_ fearful over time. One night someone took the trash out to the trash can all alone when it was very dark outside and it was the first moment I realized how much braver they are becoming. We also use TWD as a starting point for many conversations about important topics. It's important to us, too, to explore these things when we're right there together rather than have them crippled by something they weren't prepared for. Alexis de Toqueville once noted that a difference between American women and European women (at that time) was that American women weren't sheltered from the realities of the world and were rather taught about them so they weren't easy prey.
Andrea Mills I'm so glad I'm not alone! It's easy to feel that way when you're not doing what's "popular". But I've always said that we are pushing uphill in a time when it's much easier to roll on down. I love what you said about exploring things right in the moment instead of being crippled later. That's exactly what we want to prevent. 😊 And I think it's great that you noticed a difference in the kids regarding fear. As adults we know that satan is the author of fear but to relate that to the kids can be a bit more challenging. So to see the kids saying "I want to be Rick or Carl", they're choosing brave characters that they can visually connect with. So many lessons in there! ❤ And, lol, walker Tom was a great sport!!! You guys are doing an awesome job... Children are such a gift!
Asher is a goose. He and Solomon have always had kind of grumpy personalities. He also tries really hard to act bored for the camera. If I look right at him long enough, he usually cracks and gives me a big smile.
I live in Florida so I don't know much bout cold weather, but do the fish stay alive in the pond in the winter? Do the just adjust and acclimate to the cold temperatures? I ask because in one video they were or looked quite big like they have lived quite awhile. It was mentioned that they were just little things when you got them in a different video.
We put a de-icer on the pond to keep a hole for air/gas exchange. The fish live happily under the ice all winter. We've lost all of our fish twice due to someone removing the de-icer without us realizing it. It's very sad when that happens!
I did have it up, but it had a copyright claim because of some Christmas music that was playing on the radio while we were looking at Christmas lights. I intend to edit that scene out and upload it again, but I haven't got around to it.
Hi there, I am new and I am enjoying your videos. I used to watch The Walking Dead starting from the beginning. But I began to feel God nudge me that I should give it up. I did not want to but I did finally walk away. I am not judging. That nudge was meant for me. However, I was wondering if you guys watch the TWD or you all just play the game? Are you ever concerned about sending mixed messages to your children?
That's the exacted reason don't watch either. There were a few shows I felt that did not need to watch any longer and I loved watching Grimm and Once upon a time. Yet I don't miss the much.
We don't watch TV. I had to look up what The Walking Dead theme was referring to. Don't think we'll be tuning into watch it though lol. There are other ways to decrease fear. God bless.

I love the birthdays they look so much fun xxx
Can you please do a tutorial on those lovely blankets you do for each child they really seem to enjoy getting them
Yes, I'm planning to make one for my dad for Christmas and I want to do it early enough to do a video. They're super easy!
I love the music
Carl is my favourite
That is hilarious! We love TWD, but could I please have a Downton Abbey party? :-)
You made me laugh!
I love the blanket! I love Camo and purple.
Love it 💕
Looks like fun!
Why does asher look so unhappy

+Andrea Mills oh okay
TronnorsZoobloo I thought the same thing 😲
I am totally not judging because I don't have children, but do you let your kids watch the walking dead, or read the graphic novels?
🥰

Did the Christmas video ever get uploaded? I can't find it

My birthday March 8 too that's when this is updated
Y
They must not care too much if they all have knifes and Asher got a toy gun
why is there a b-day video for asher's b-day in March and then December? I'm confused?
I was slow getting things edited. It took me awhile to get the hang of finding time to work on videos.
come to my birthday
