Crazy how good Ma/Tang played during the early days of their partnership, as if they had played together for years. Had Ma/Tang won this match and Wang Xiaoli hadn't suffered from injury, I think it would've been a totally different story for Chinese Women's Doubles in the Rio Olympics. I for sure believed the Gold would've gone to the Chinese team. The level these 4 players played at was so high, the only possible contender was 2016 Misaki/Ayaka. Too good.
the chinese had to be blamed for this, they could have easily gone with bao yixin/tang yuanting who won in 2015. if they continued that partnership they could have dominated and still continue playing. They both retired very young.
@@udaygadge6064 I absolutely agree. I was just commenting on the AE WD Final 2015 video about China's part in their WD failure. Couldn't help but to mourn over Bao/Tang partnership. They would've been a fantastic pair. Probably snatching the Gold in Olympics and WBC. Might've been a whole different story and Japanese pairs wouldn't probably be as dominating as they are now.
@@udaygadge6064 The Chinese were too hasty, too impatient to find the most effective partnership. They were probably overly confident, forming any pair from their team and the result would be up to par. Well yes, it was exactly the case. But eventually took a toll on the players. Didn't think much of it through eh
@@yohantanokotan3398 I think it happened because after wang xiaoli has got injured, Yu Yang wanted to play with tang yuanting and since yu yang was a veteran player who achieved a lot, the chinese team couldn't say no to her. That was a huge mistake. Bao/Tang were so much better than any possible pair they could have had at that time. Their final performance in 2015 AE final was one of the best performances I've seen in WD. (and that was their first ever tournament together as a pair)

It's crazy that Yu Yang had been appear in 9 AE Final matches for 8 years in a row, from 2008-2016!
2010 ???
@@saptahari5485 2010 she won the title with Du Jing, they defeated Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei
Oh.. now i understand why in 2012 olympics group stage other nations did any means to elude wangxiao li/yu yang in the next round
Oh I miss this era.
Salut dengan kecerdikan ma jin di depan net, wajar aja sekelas Ayaka/Misaki sampai akhir permainan mrka, mrka blom bisa mengalahkan ma jin
Bener. Ma Jin dipasangkan sama siapapun bagus. Kecuali sama Qianxin Zhong 🤣😭

It was quite a massive L for China to not even medal at the Olympics with the team that they had in Rio.
One thing I like about Ma Jin is she always paid attention to her nails
same thing with yuki fukushima haha
That save by Ma Jin at 15:18 is amazing. One of the best WD matches in badminton, in my book.
This match is next level. So intense!

oh how I miss Ma Jin in court
Tang Yuanting smash even is more powerful and sharp than Jia Yifan and almost the same like Wang Xiaoli 🔥. What a wasted talent
but Jia Yifan clearly has better choice of shot, she's really the backbone of Chen/Jia
