Bravo! More like this! That five minutes...is like an hours worth to me. Very valuable, I wish there were more 70s era Whitehorse footage. I grew up there as a kid, and you just can imagine what it was like for kids to live at the edge of the wild: cold winters and endless summers.
The Yukon theatre! It was like that before?!??? When I was there it was all white and off Color and it really got old but people still go in but then the virus started and now I’m sad....so much memories about my home
When I was younger living in Whitehorse 79 + they used to let you drink in the theatre as long as you took your bottles out and watched the movie, ahhh the good ole days.
I've lived in Whitehorse for Forty-seven years. I was here in 1977, and I remember the scenes in this short film quite well. This sure brought back lots of great memories. Thank you so much for capturing my city on film and especially for sharing this great walk down memory lane. It was a real treat.
I was born in 2004 and looking at this is so strange and awesome. Some stuff I don’t even recognize and some I’m like “that thing is that old and is still up!? How!?”
Your kidding right? More than 2 traffic lights now, Walmart, can tire, super strore, etc etc. moved in, most the landmarks I remember are gone, FH Collins High, Whitehorse Inn, old post office, last but not least...no more public drinking, thats where I learned to drink and drive, Lol. was a great place and time to grow up. always miss it, Dawson City is still rough around the edges like Whitehorse used to be.
As a 3rd generation Yukoner, thank you for sharing this ❤❤❤❤❤

Awe you skipped the totem pole at rotary park between 3:00 to 3:05. At least you get a view of it at 3:38.
Wow. What a good eye you have for capturing the moment in time. Thanks for this.
Thanky you Chris!
We moved to Whitehorse in 1976 very accurate for that time.
Awesome window onto the past. It is interesting to see that so.e of the building haven't changed at all. Impressive.
Thank you Olivier!
over 40 years ago and not much has changed
Amazing 😊👍
