Send him to a new school, get a lawyer, press charges with tho police and make a complaint to the school board. Maria is finally getting a backbone and seeing clearly
I realise that this is a soap... But these days, schools don't appear to be dealing with bullying seriously. The teachers seem to be sympathetic towards the bullies and the victim just appears to be guilty as charged from the teachers point of view.
He didn’t tell them that Mason threw a knife on him. I bet that will be a important part of the storyline, because they don’t know that he’s dangerous.
This is literally the problem. Schools do nothing but empower the bullies. Most use the excuses are that bullies have a bad home life which might be true. But it never justifies this level of torture.

Bad bullies like Mason and Corey Brent and 2016's Lauren are worse than actual villains like Richard Hillman. Coz for all his sins Richard Hillman was no bully and quite genuine for a human being with a homicidal streak. As for Mason and those who do little to help Liam's horrific ordeal like Mrs Crawshaw here, well they're either no better or a lot worse - not to mention the fact that they are a lot more hateable.
