Triple Threat Offline was way better than Breakout because it had guaranteed rewards. I only play Breakout for challenges now. 2k leaving our rewards up to chance is driving me away. Only guaranteed cards are the Domination rewards
The real problem is the latest update with the disastrous gameplay-centers everywhere with fast releases, and it’s already October. I don’t get how they still haven’t figured out that no one who actually loves basketball wants to play with centers like David Robinson or Shaq shooting threes. And why nerf the drop step? Now we don’t even have a choice in the type of center we want to use…
Their should be a consistent session breakout 500 mins for a diamond hidden gem. They forcing multiplayer when the servers are auwful is just painful. Then completely neglecting offline players is shocking.
I think it's time for a deeper discussion on myteam, and I think revamping the entire mode is needed. We as a community are absurdly reward focused, we will sacrifice fun and time to "grind". Players become addicts to ticking the boxes in the game to the point that the rewards don't matter. Even if the rewards are good, we get them in order to "grind" for more rewards. At what point do we play the game to actually enjoy it? I understand the youtubers making a career off this game and good for them. But they also push to take the fun away from the game by spreading negativity, an overly competitive mindset and lack of originality. So whats the solution? A complete overhaul, I don't know exactly what should be done and how it should be structured but 2k has to actually take risks on the next game, Adding a different reward system isn't a risk, changing the way we rank up also isn't a risk and adding a slightly altered game mode is also far from a risk. An example would be: You start off in a rundown local gym as your home court. You can only recruit the rookie versions of players you chose, as you play with these players they start to develop into better versions of themselves (kind of like evos but more versatile). Your team has few fans and you get small VC amounts from each game, but as you win you get more fans, the stadium gets better, you get more VC per game. VC would be used to scout and recruit players rather than pull them in a pack as well as upgrade facilities and send players on camps to develop.
You have to understand that that is never going to happen. The model for game devs these days is “how do we get player retention up” which is artificially inflated by giving us endless grindable content like breakout where you can mindlessly play games to try and get a good reward which has such a low % of happening you get nothing and end up spending real money for the pro pass and VC. It’s just how all games are these days, get players to spend hours on the game and if they can’t because they have a family/job whatever, make them spend money to keep up with the grinders.
And don’t get me started on the gambling stuff, grind this to get a random 92+ hidden gem and HOPE that there’s a 50/50 chance you get a good card, it’s so apparent what they’re trying to do to us lol
You gotta really think about the fact this is the way they WANT it. They only want the people that are truly addicted in some way shape or form to having to open packs and rinsing/repeating the cycle. Casuals/NMS are just whale food that keeps the cycle going unless you’re completely cracked out like Tydebo

23 had more content than 24 lol. 2k23 had daily agenda reward. 24 did not. 23 had weekly takeover card reward. 23 had 2 free cards a week one hard one tuesdays online geind and fridays an easy one moments cards only needed offline. 2k23 had spotlight challenges and monthly spotlight challenges. 23 had the trophy grind. 23 had the free yi jianlliang opal, opal kemp, opal KG, constant hof badge grinds. 2K23 had the best grinds, the only thing wrong was the mechanics were trash. 2K23 also had u limited, ct, cto, tt, tto rewards. 2k25 rewards are trash and MT is so hard to make. No content.
I hate this game so bad. I just did an exchange for a diamond hidden gem, and I pulled Tim Duncan - who is IDENTICAL (stats & badges) to the All-Time DOM reward Duncan I grinded for, and got, in szn 1.
I like it I hardly grind don’t spend money and still have a team that can compete. They do need to increase the odds of packs so there is more in the auction house though

I only started playing nba2k last year and i was shocked to see the game modes in myteam compared to 2k24. I'm mostly a offline player and i loved tripple threat, its not as complicated as playing with a full team. Now there's only breakout, where you have to do objectives to get points and can't play like you want. It sucks that almost every sportsgame is pay2win nowadays.
Yeah bud seems like if you hit lvl 40 there no point to play until next season. I don’t trust them to add new content so I don’t wanna finish domination and don’t do online. Last year I’m playing, came back this year because of bronny and lebron but 2k ruined the game so far. I’ll enjoy rest of year and last year playing.
The main issue is every reward they give in the game in nonauctionable and they ruined collector level. If they fixed either of those issues the game would be much better imo. Auction house is dead because of both of those reasons
2k makes everything harder. NMS super hard, sniping just about dead too because of everything pending. mostly everything to do is a huge grind for RNG that’s not worth it. 2k intentional makes the game mode inaccessible to make the player spend money and it’s right in our faces this year.
I'm with you Bio last year sucked as well. You have to play on line to get any XP basically. After domination is done I got nothing to play but breakout. Why'd they get rid of TT Offline and Clutch Time Offline?
I went back to playnow online because that mode has plenty of goals to reach, and it's balanced and not pay to win. Every once in awhile I come back to myteam and build a new salary cap team, but even that now the rewards have been buffed.

I got banned for it on PC so it definitely is a thing. But I got away with it for a while buying over 2 million. When season 2 drop they changed what they were looking for and I got caught so, if you're buying, be careful.

"shooting update sucks, defence is broken, mike wang, blah blah blah." It's a basketball game, so.... the part where you just play basketball over and over is a feature... not a bug. I didn't play 2023 or 2024 and came back for this one with the attitude that mirco-trans games are just the way it is now. Sure it's lame, but no, i don't complain about it constantly. I will drop an extra $300-$500 on the game over the year while i play. I hate playing breakout nothing better then playing almost 50 games for maybe a legendary badge and only one, if it was pick 3 in an option pack then it would be more exciting to receive because that can actually help a player but one legendary normally doesn’t do a whole lot.
If they modeled the game after the show you wouldn’t be able to get me off of it, I can’t even find it in my heart to load it up now, used to grind everything on 2k for years I just can’t do it anymore.

Game is too repetitive especially since it’s nearly impossible to get pink diamonds so why I am grinding for?

This 2K is actually really fun i love it way more than 2k24 ut 2k23 was better. I miss the glitches on 23 with position lock unlimited glitch.
