Yhwach hates soul reapers from the bottom of his heart. He wouldn’t give them shit. He wanted to exterminate them. He also thought very little of hollows. Remember Ebern?!

@@strawhatvibe I think that Yhwach to some extent is also a victim of his circumstances.
When Yhwach was born he was completely motionless. He was born with the ability to split his soul. Everyone who received a portion of Yhwach’s soul was said to feel whole again. Upon their death, the piece of his soul with the person’s knowledge, powers and feelings returned to him.
Ever since his birth Yhwach is forced to feel the deaths of all the souls that return to him.
All Yhwach seems to feel is sadness and sorrow. He’s incapable or ignorant of people who find peace or a happy life without his influence.
So he came to the deranged conclusion that if he’d remove the concept of death invented by the soul reapers. He’d be finally at peace. In other words it would be quiet because people don’t die anymore. With all the powers he built up throughout the centuries, why wouldn’t he turn the world upside down.
This why I always saw Yhwach as a consequence of the origin sin. A inevitable for of nature. Like out sun that will eventually burn out, swallow Merkur and Venus and turn our planet earth into a piece of coal. That’s the fate of all stars.
Even if Ichigo and Aizen never set one foot into the seireitei. The Quincies would have wreaked the place one way or another.

@@strawhatvibepersonally what I got from the answer was that yhwach was
1.able to share his power and give someone a epithet not a shrift exactly because a shrift is the name/classification for a Quincy’s unique ability just like shikai.
2.if yhwach for whatever reason were to do this to any other race it most likely work in the way that it works for that specific race aka still having to use a release for soul reaper and arrancars.

One question I wished people would ask is if there is an alternative method of obtaining a shrift without the yhwachs involvement aka the ritual.
Since yhwach is able to see the ability/letter engraved in the soul before he bestows shrift proves the abilities are awakened and not granted and if it’s already dormant their may be a way to bring it out naturally.
And also I already know the answer yhwach is able to steal somones second release but why weren’t the bambies able to use vollstandig after his defeat we know yhwach never granted the ability due to it being stated it was a product of Quincy evolution/engineering and we know the vollstandig has to be learned via the fact that during the tybw Candice had recently learned to use hers.

Valid question off the top of my head I think kubo showed us in a way with the hyogoku. The full bringers all poses Soul king fragments. Which all activate your abilities . Rangiku had a fragment of the SK and Aizen took it and fed it to the hyogoku which then later had the ability to break the boundaries between hollows and shinigami. But I can be wrong lol really interesting conversation! I think I’ll have to revisit this question
