- You guys have been asking for this for a while. Here is an explanation for our endgame expansion mechanism. We used it with extreme sucsses at both Haunted and a Nebraska event. This endgame typically scored 70+ points and it got a max of 78 in competition. Our lowest score in a tournament for expansion points was 60. Feel free to ask any queations.
glad to see other teams doing this. first saw it on 62A awhile ago. good job, good video.
Hey 755H here, really cool design with endgame. Hope to see something cool happen at the Air Capital event soon :)
You will.
No way my sarcastic comment made it 😍
Hey zack
@@team40994F 😭 😔 bro spelled it wrong
@@zorpp guess who it is
@@team40994F idk himanshus brother
@@zorpp yes
did you end up liking your asterisk drive? what did you learn about it
Didn’t run asterisk. The side wheels were trackers.
@@9MotorGang i knew i was tripping
First
Very cool design btw, super effective
What piece did you use for the weight for the pneumatics? I'm having trouble finding it.
Idk. It’s just some gusset. Honestly doesn’t really matter. You just have to be able to tie a cord between the latch and the cylinder.
Thanks! This is really cool
whats making you rebuild? what was the biggest flaw with this?
Nothing inherently wrong with the old one. We just didn’t have room to improve.
It’s a great design. What was that white cable connecting the lever perhaps to piston? Thanks
The white cord was just connected to the end of a cylinder.
@@9MotorGang Thank you and good luck!
How do you launch it during the game? Like I don’t think you can launch them manually during the match (obviously). Is there a another mechanism of activating all the string launchers at once?
There is a cylinder that the connects to the gusset as mentioned in the video.
How did you connect the lock bar to the slide insert with the limited space between it and the slide rail?
We just ued 0.25 inch spacers and a 0.5 inch screw.
it’s not secured on the bottom?
@@shinytie245 THe inserts have built in threads
@@9MotorGang that makes sense! thanks
just wondering is there a reason that you dont cast a net of strings over the entire field to hit every square
The robot did?
From the video it seems like it's shooting individual strings not like a net mb
any reason why you decided to change your endgame and not keep the one from your old bot?
This one was a huge pain to reset and easily tangled. The angles also weren't ideal for the S2 changes.
@@9MotorGang what changes are you planning to make to reduce tangling? Also I assume the angles could be improved just by mounting the expansions in different orientations
@@ari90i We aren't having the string connected anymore. And we now lounch at 0 degrees.
@@9MotorGang Benefits of launching at 0 degrees are less chance to hit expansion blockers I assume? Or is there any additional reason
@@ari90i Just not to go out of the field.
can i ask were is the motor of the expansion
and how did yo do it
There is a cylinder as mentioned in the video.
What did you use to pull on the end game from the pneumatics?
The gusset seen.
What is that blue thing that is fired called?
It’s a linear slide insert.
Me and my team are looking to build something similar. For the 3D printed blue piece that shoots out could you provide the file of the print to me. If not please tell us the dimensions so we can print one. Thanks ❤
Just saw it’s not 3D printed how did you make that?
@@ryansevyy Its in the linear motion kit sold by vex.
Yo, did not expect to make a cameo in this vid. The ref shirt is so ugly ☠.
We’ve gotten 84 once or twice
84 point mechs definitely a lot more common now than in October.
Do you get Dq at all?
No. We only ever had 1 out of field expansion due to 3141A shoving us. That was before it was ruled an instant DQ. If it had been an instant DQ we just wouldn’t have fired the right side of our endgame.
Cracked
new bot this weekend?
Oh yah. Full rebuild. Probably share some leaks later this week.
Nice robot but string not legallie
Did you watch the video?
Not nearly as effective as an IED imho
A bit more legal though.
