I love crystal and China but passed on my items because they need to be dishwasher safe. Most of my dishes and glassware are from the 60s and 70s which make for a colorful table.
The few crystal bowls and platters that I’ve kept along with the few that I’ve recently purchased are now placed to under my potted plants to catch water.
I’ve also repurposed these items to hold toiletry items, jewelry catch alls next to my bed, makeup storage, and every day fruit bowls in my kitchen. The items become less precious and I use them more when thrifted.
