- Timing from File Select (before memory card dialog) to last boss hit.
Max comes in 2-6 when health is half or below if you get 5 lightning cards in World 2. You want him to come when the boss has 2 or less hearts because the boss attack cycle is longer. My best 2-6 time is a 2:21.

Playing this game takes me back during my middle school days. As a child I play this game alot and complete it several times. Bomberman generation was my favorite video game I play on my nintendo gamecube it was fun to enjoy along with metroid prime one and two, mario sunshine, and smash bros melee. great memories I still have this game hidden in my closet and it still works but never through of playing it because I don't play to much video games like I use well it's pretty much up to me if I want to play my old video games but on the other hand Rest in peace soft hudson for making bomberman games and Thank you for both bringing back my good old memories and for uploading this video keep it up speed runner.

I don't know why, but listening to this speedrun while working was surprisingly enjoyable.

Played only multiplayer as a kid with the fam but we never got past the first level in story and we rented the game so we didn’t wanna waste time on that haha
Annnndd that shit actually looked hard. We would’ve been too stupid to beat the story
What's the point of visiting each world for one level first?
First 3 worlds can be done in any order. 1-1 is first to get andlar and start leveling him up. 3-1 is done to get speed/bombs/firepower up. 2-1,2-2,2-3,2-4 is done to level up andlar and open 2-5. 3-2 is done once we have enough power to beat pteradon (like ~60% of the time in this route) 2-5 is done so Pteradon can beat Pommy. Pommy (remote bombs) saves a ton of time everywhere and is the major reason for the route. Wind bombs and Pommy Dragon save time in world 1, so world 3 is finished out first.
Kirkq That's cool. Yeah, the more I watch the run, the more I see how important pommy's ability is haha. But how do wind bombs save time? Aren't all the bombs the same except they can manipulate things like water spouts and leaves?
Curtis Balch There's an alternate path with wind bombs in 1-5 that avoids a text box. Also Pommy Dragon saves time in 1-4 but I messed up the trick.

Would it not be quicker to go to 2-1 first and get kai-man, level him up and use him for the Pteradon fight?
vynnle Andlar has better offensive stats, and 2-1 is really slow going in with 1 bomb.
Such a good and bad game. Sound design is great, the amount of hand holding and pausing is annoying.
