The suspect refused to comply and walked towards the residential area still displaying the bladed weapons. Officers attempted several times to utilize less lethal options in an attempt to stop the suspect from advancing towards the occupied homes. The suspect threatened the officers with a knife at which time officers fired their service weapons to stop the threat. Officers immediately assess the suspect’s injuries and within minute and a half of the last shot fired, officers were able to render emergency first aid while waiting for the Fire Department to arrive. The suspect was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for medical treatment but has since been released from the hospital and recovering in rehab. The suspect has not been charged. They aim for center mass...so, when they aren't missing (let's be real here 🤭), they are aiming for areas that are less likely to kill a person. obviously, any shot can be fatal but they do try to mitigate that a bit. They also administered aid with a min and a half of the last round being fired. Getting tourniquets and chest seals on right away also helps to save lives..... ....that they just attempted to take (and failed).

The cop that fell on his back and then stood up again, came very close to being hit by the two officers behind him to his left and right as they were shooting. It wasn't completely clear if the officer to his left actually shot, but she had her gun out and pointed at the knife dude and if she did shoot, her rounds must have passed just over his left shoulder. The officer to his right has about one body width of clearance when he was shooting. That's kinda too close if you don't know what the person in front of you is going to do with all the moving around. I know it's easy to quarterback this on video and all that was happening in a span of a few seconds, but sometimes when you have someone shooting behind you and you know the target is in front of you, keep your ass on the ground!

Heavily medicated, you're woken up every morning at 4am to get more medication and blood taken, if you're a danger to others then you'll get your own room, but watched on cameras and by a nurse or two in your open door 24/7, and your room stripped. If you act out you get more medication, but are then strapped to a bed in a confinement room and watched even more. Doesn't sound so bad, but when you're in it it's horrible. I'm speaking from experience.

Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, April 12, 2024, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Yuma Police Department officers responded to the 1000 block of S. Magnolia Avenue for an individual who was being disorderly and threatening to kill the occupants and their dog. Officers made contact with a 30-year-old male. One thing to remember is that we ONLY see the videos where the taser failed. Otherwise it likely wouldn’t have continued. There are thousands of successful taser uses, and none of those ever reach this channel because it’s not a shooting or something really significant.
