I love how well you can hear the dual synchronized lead guitars on this track! That is what really set them apart from other bands, IMHO. Besides the sheer talent of the guitar players, of course!!
It does not get any better than this. I saw them when I was 14 in 1969 in Sarasota. I knew they were the best band I was ever going to see. I was correct.
It was one of the last recorded songs that Duane played before his tragic accident. The first solo is definitely Duane. The album came out after his death.
Dickie penned this song, both lyrics and music, and brought it to Duane to "fine tune". It was released AFTER Duane passed. Initially Dickie thought Gregg Allman should sing it, because Gregg was the bands voice up until that time. Duane encouraged Dickie to sing it because it was his song.
As much as you liked this, I believe Jessica would be something you’d like at least as much. Especially the live video , it was recorded at an out door concert. I don’t recall where, but it was a sunny laid back atmosphere. Anyway good.job, will look for you again, thanks R Conger L
Not to pick on you, but their name is pronounced ….All-man… almost sounds like almond…. The last song, Duane Allman recorded before his tragic death in a motorcycle accident.. for me they are the greatest band in the world second to none and if you want to hear some great guitar listen to …At the Fillmore East the Deluxe Edition has all the music from the Fillmore that was live. That album is in the Library of Congress.
Hey man don't let the haters get to ya. Don't worry about "getting" the song or music, you are doing a fine job. The music is transcendental that's the beauty of it.
There's a comment you made while reacting to Southern Cross that made me want you to react to Arthur Gunn on American Idol singing Country Roads. I think John Denver would have even loved it.
Often sited as ABB fans favorite song by the band and you can hear why . If you want to see a great Live performance of the song , The "Dreams" era version of the Allman Brothers with Warren Haynes & Allen Woody in the band from "Live at Great Woods" video .
My favorite tune by the Allmans, it almost brings me to tears of joy whenever I hear it, especially during the part where the guitars meet.
Agreed. When I find my soulmate I will dedicate this song to her.
Great choice. This was Dickie Betts' song. He does vocals and plays the second part of the guitar solo. Duane Allman plays the first.
I was going to say the same thing .
Love ABB
So that was 2 great guitarist preforming that “solo” very blessed band to have soooo much talent.

the allman brothers are a TREMENDOUS band
This was the last song that Duane Allman recorded with an electric guitar... The very last song he recorded, accoustic, "Little Martha"
I have a cat named Little Martha . I call her Marth . It is easier .
“Amazing solo” is right !
My go to happy song when all seems dark and dreary and the weight of the world is pressing down on me.
Look , look and look you will never find what the best of them all The Allman Brothers Band has gifted the world !!!!
Dickie and duane 😍🤘❤️
This tune could play on repeat as they drop me in my forever hole.
"Jessica" is another one to grab your soul.

Allman Brothers, one of the most incredible Southern Rock bands ever. Great reaction, it's a masterpiece.
Edit: You just gained a new sub here
I agree music transcends time.
Does anyone know for certain that Duane Allman was on this recording? Seems to me it was made after he died.

100 % Duane on this song

Greatest band ever.
This is my favorite song!
It's sunshiny!
Writtenby Dickie Betts. For his ingenious girlfriend, Blue Sky. Cheers!
Autocorrect issues...lol
