This has to be my favorite channel on RUclips. I’m from Boston, and naturally am interested in American history but never find videos that explain the history and also show the interiors. Here you Al are doing just that! Excellent job! 🇺🇸

I’ve been there about 3 times, maybe more, either way I love it. The last time we went my sister asked if that was all to the house I looked around and said no we haven’t seen the upstairs or that side of the house. She was surprised I remembered because it had been many years since we went. I love walking around that estate. I need to go back and take my other daughter.

Maybe 56 years ago was the last time I was there. Has much changed? I'm distantly related to Martha Washington.
At least four of my direct ancestors served under Gen. Washington at the Crossing of the Delaware and battles at Trenton. Early at the Battle of Long Island. The land I live on was surveyed by Washington when he worked for Lord Fairfax. Mom and dad are buried on the land confiscated during the Civil War, now known as the Arlington National Cemetery.

Great video, guys! Informative and well presented, including some interesting and geeky details (which I love). My only change would be that the large window in the New Room is a Palladian window, after the Italian Renaissance architect, Andrea Palladio, who popularized it. Washington may have called it a Venetian window in his day.

Every source I've read (and I've read a lot on Washington) says that Patsy Custis had her fatal seizure in the dining room, not the bedroom. Maybe she was taken to the bedroom after the seizure, but it struck in the dining room.

im sure 95% of the furniture and paintings are made to look like they are from the 1700s but were probably made no more then like 20 years ago. I highly doubt that that much furniture from 260 years ago would survive without damage. in fact im sure that the floor is the only thing in the entire house that Washington did actually touch.

Interesting but why do we have to spend so much of the time staring at a bunch of darned talking heads. Do you really think you're so beautiful that we can't live without this ? You've ended up wasting three quarters of the time with gabbing which could have been done as speech over more pictures and details. Very disappointing
