Logan, if I were you I'd consider taking some classes at USC. Or if you're more into photography, Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara is amazing (albeit expensive). Anyway, I can tell you that you are lucky as heck to have Shay and Casey at Maker as I know that in Hollywood, all you need is a way in and then you're set. My step-father worked at Paramount for years and got in because he had a friend whose family worked with the unions since The Wizard of Oz.
Logan! One thing about gopro and the pole it's better to flip the camera facing down gives you better stability and better footage all the weight is pulling down and not from the top like the way your holdin it now

Go to crystal cove i also live in California and it has really clear water and there are some secret spots kind of like el matador but cooler!
