i don't understand why some people are complaining about a women's panel. don't like it, don't watch it. simple as that.
im not complaining about that panel, but i think you are being hypocritical by saying that. if the people who organize comicon decided to do a whole panel with only white people in it where the defining factor were their whiteness, and no person of color would be allowed to be in it, would you just let it be? would you just not watch it?
other than people feeling like its unjust to have a panel just for girls, dont you think its a little dividing? arent we for equality and gender heterogeneity? why would you want a whole panel with only one gender in it?
Im all for powerful woman but this is just pandering nonsense that fake armchair feminists use because they have nothing to say but still wanna come off as "Strong woman".... madam curie was badass! hedy lamar was a badass! these are just actresses that play bad asses on tv. it sends a mixed message. ill give you an example. very few people i know have heard of hedy lamar and she helped in the discoveries of things like wifi and Bluetooth. meanwhile everyone knows who Bettie page is and all she ever did was take pretty pictures. So i would suggest to start shining a spot lite on the woman who are really badass and stop giving so much credit to a few actresses that have done nothing to push woman to the heights they deserve to be at. So in short people are complaining because this is a perfect example of pandering from armchair feminist that wanna pretend like they are making a difference without actually having to do anything to help change things.
ugh the ye old "HEY MAN! how come there isnt a white history month!?!? defense". hey i agree this is pandering as all hell but that point has been brought up time and again and its still as ridiculous as it ever was. its kinda pathetic when straight white males in america are complaining about how rough it is to be them becase as a straight white male i can tell you from personal experience its not hard being us. its actually super fucking easy.
mcstonerdo you misunderstood the point i was trying to make... i didnt say that there should be a panel for white males because there is a panel for women, i just tried to show the person to whom i replied her hypocricy (and i dont mean it to sound offensive, i am referring to the literal meaning of the word), through an analogy. that is all.
i'm hyprocritical? there's literally a panel full of men called 'brave new warriors', i don't see any of you complaining about how it's 'dividing' men and women.. i'm not the hypocritical one here. it's interesting to see that no one bats an eye when it's a panel full of men but god forbid women are praised and given a panel.

Yes. Worst crowd ever. The audience is full of cold fish. Slow to react to jokes and interesting comments.
I dunno. I've watched a lot of these videos and I think it's just the producers toning down the audience reactions so they do not overpower the audio of the speakers.

+naomi rheedus there are plenty of women who should've been here too, personally I don't think Melissa should be here. If I was to choose which woman from TWD should be here, it would be the girl who was shot through the eye in the train tracks. She's the most kickass this season, the rest of the female cast felt helpless including my favorite Michonne.

The compere for this panel was truly awful. Why are they sticking Lucy Lawless on the end, and completely ignoring her. She has contributed more to strong females in geekdom than everyone else on this panel combined.

Connie Nielson was in Gladiator and Wonder Woman, Ming Na Wen voiced Mulan and is on Agents of Shield, Melissa Benoist is Supergirl, Tatiana Maslany played like a billion characters on the show Orphan Black, and Lucy Lawless was Xena: Warrior Princess. So, they're all worth listening to.
