Have you noticed of all the existing folding phones, the Huawei Mate X3/X5 has the best rounded corners near the hinge. There is less corner bezel and its more rounded. Others have sharp corners or extra material from corner to display. I wrote an aricle with photo comparisons in the Huawei Community Forum.
The Huawei mate x5 fold is phenomenal. It has micro SD card, every camera is incredible, 3 to 5 day battery, stylus pen works every screen , big front screen, emergency satellite crash etc it's amazing and I'm a big Samsung fan
Awesome, watching this on a mate x3 and I concur with everything you said (except for when you called Harmony OS 4 a skin, it's not mate it's a different OS, 😅) . I just wish mine was had Harmony OS 4 so that I could get full Google services without gbox.

@abdullahiknouz I like the idea of a folding phone. But I don't like the square format of the unfolded screen. And 2000 bucks is too much money. So I'm gonna stick to normal phones for now 😜.
... Kirin9000s is 5G... It simply wasn't explicitly declared as such in the release OS/ ROM. It's quite unlike that they reached over 500 Mbps on the existing 4G Networks...

This is a really good question as Huawei have a bit of a weird approach to their Stylus line up. The stylus packed with their tablets doesn't work, they sell a separate M Pen

Had been using a matepad pro 2021, and was very happy with Gms as it is really a battery sucker. My dad's Mate X5 is also so efficient in this matter. While I had the need of Gms on my magic v2, I could not be happier if it gms did not come natively. I could install only the apps I need (play store, books, YT Studio) and not the crappy ones (Gmail, Maps). No its different from from removing after preinstall. The only problem I had was with nearby share. Has anyone in that matter have a workaround?
i mean not a bad phone but just like samsung not a lot of inovation. thee difference vs the mate x3. 4 g heavier, 260mah bigger battery, different chip which is about the same speed.
sorry if I'm off topic under this video but I dont know how to contact you. I found on Ben's gadget retailer website sponsor : Apple Iphone 11 Pro (refurbished second hand). it cost only around 60 euro plus ship
You dont literally need Mate X5 untill unless you are dying for 5G band (which i dont) and few extra battery juice i.e 260mah from the X3. Or else there is aint difference between the X3 and X5.
2 things prevent me from buying one. Google services, and the chip type. 7nm chip at this stage is just too old and inefficient. otherwise, the device is really great.
I have to say I thought exactly the same thing and imagined apps I wouldn't be able to get and a worse battery life due to the nm of the chip... The reality is different though. In real world use the battery life is miles ahead of the iphone pro max 13 I came from and whilst different the whole experience is so silky.
@@oliverodell3105 even if the power consumption is not an issue, the performance is also not that great. the performance of Kirin 9000S can barely compete with SD 888. most of the new foldables uses SD 8 gen 2. so, you're paying $3000 for a device that is 2 generations behind competition which can be obtained at a lower price. also, if you're into emulation, then you would know that some emulators won't work on Chinese chips such as kirin. Huawei is a great company, it's just being held back by external factors. otherwise, I believe they would have destroyed all competition
I do not recommend buying Huawei devices if you want to use Google services. From January 2024, Huawei will remove Google libraries from Harmony OS. What does this mean in English? You won't be able to install GMS on Huawei devices like before! If you can live without GMS then you can buy a Huawei device. Otherwise, just don't buy it!
Still NO 5G and NO ANDROID AUTO. Total non-starter still for me. Such a shame, Huawei were the best until Trump put the boot in. The hack to get Google services doesn't work fully on a lot of apps, as an example try getting your Ring Door Bell and home alarm system working consistantly - it doesn't. I'm still using yet another over-priced Samsung Fold 5 and the new One Plus Open. I'd give both up to use a proper 5G Google services Mate X5 it it were available.
