- How to Build a Healthcare Sales Machine. The organizational chart of a healthcare startup is extremely important for generating revenue.
There should be a Chief Revenue Officer of New Business. Marketing, Lead Generation and Sales should report to this Chief Revenue Officer of New Business. This CRO reports to the CEO.
Account Management should report to the Chief Operating Officer. Account Management is responsible for decreasing customer churn and upselling to existing customers. By having Account Management report to the COO, it makes the COO accountable to customers in order to improve the product or service. The COO reports to the CEO.
The Head of Business Development is responsible for partnerships where the company's services are 'baked in' to another company's product offering. Typically in healthcare that other company is an insurance carrier, third party administrator, PBM, broker/consultant, accountable care organization or Medicare Advantage Plan.
By having three separate members of the executive team responsible for revenue it ensures that revenue is front-and-center as a priority for the CEO and it diversifies the risk of revenue generation across three team members, instead of just one.

What are the essential resources that must be made available for the effective function of a CRO for newbiz ? Especially when the company is contrained on available budget
The CRO themselves must be able to generate leads and sell… may have to start with a team of 1 if very little budget.
