David. For starters both you and I had fun and enjoyed ourselves. When in addition so many people enjoy the result of your visit, it is a bonus for both of us. I have also shared your RUclips on some local Facebook groups and had much positive feedback. You will get some more followers. Welcome back.
Thank you David for the visit, the pictures and videos. I really enjoyed our time together. Fun to follow you and how you did experience an area that I see virtually every day. Glad I could share it with you and now also your followers. Best wishes and have fun. 🤠 Ps. Maybe I should slow down and you could speed up a little???🤔
Yep, and this place has shot up to the top of my wish list! Just stunning, I could imagine myself running around like a kid in a sweetshop for months up there! Glad you had a great trip, and if you go again, please find room to squeeze me into your bag as well! 😄
David, what can I say but outstanding. Beautiful images. That little pen F is a gem. Wise choice for your travel kit. Again wonderful images and thanks for taking us along.
Just caught up with days 1to 2 and now 3and 4 absolutely stunning scenery and how well you captured it , you could feel yourself standing there in your photos , super sharp they were too, that penF and lens choice was excellent. A brilliant vlog as always thank you for sharing it with us all.
What a wonderful video. I doubt if I shall ever make it to Lofoten now for a variety of reasons. I love Norway and have some great memories thanks to the photos I took then on film. Your capture of the ambience and majesty of the landscape is magnificent, and your compositions as ever brilliant. I think even I might have got a couple of keepers, too!
Love these Norwegian videos Dave. Fantastic images. Well done sir! I would also like to thank you for sharing your videos. It’s not lost that the work, time and investment is all yours so for you to do this without adverts or sponsors is amazing. Thank you again.
Now watched parts 1 through 4 David and wow, what a place to visit and all your images are worthy of framing and putting on a wall. Thank you for sharing.
My day starts with watching your videos the day after they are posted. It’s joy to share your beautiful images especially of your latest excursion to Norway. You have once again managed to produce some amazing photos, thank you for sharing your thought process and camera settings. As I mentioned before I must dust off my Lumix 35-100, it’s a great travel lens, compact and lightweight, a perfect MFT lens.
I know you said you were going to be Frank but David suits you better. Your choice at 7.47 is sublime and a great memory of your visit to Norway along with your other fine work. Shows how good your work is when the SAS fly you home.
Fantastic photos from my home country. And so nice you shot with your Pen F. Very inspiring. I live in south part of Norway and also use Olympus gear and Fujii too. Thanks for shearing this beatiful videos
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. I've fallen in love with your beautiful country and will most certainly be back, hopefully quite regularly 😊👍
Thats wonderful you like my country so much ❤️ I would recomend Telemark county if you like to try the south part of the country. Its the part of country I live in.
Really enjoyed your "holiday snaps" Dave. I used to have the Lumix 12-35/35-100 f2.8 Pro lenses and they were every bit as good as the Olympus PRO lenses (except more flare I think). I still use the Lumix 45-175 X series zoom, they do make some nice lenses. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Yes I really enjoying using, and the results of, the Panasonic lenses I have. One of the aspects of M4/3 I really enjoy is the wide range of options for lenses 😊👍
Amazing images, David. One of the things I love about watching your channel is the fact that you are not the least bit afraid to use non pro lenses and gear. I'm talking in this instance about the Panasonic Lumix 35-100 f4-5.6. Of course that lens isn't weather sealed, is variable aperture and doesn't have a robust Pro level build quality but you prove time and again that many of these kinds of lenses are optically very good and with a bit of care, can produce fantastic results.
Thanks so much for your generous feedback, yes I really enjoyed using this lens not least because it's so small and light, and, as you say, with care can produce some pretty decent results. I have a strong suspicion that my OM 40-150 f4 Pro might be left on the shelf more often than not in future! 😊👍
@@paulmcclellan3786 Hi Paul, I suppose that the easiest way to reply to that is rather than a lengthy direct comparison to simply say that since I acquired the 35-100 the 40-150 has stayed on the shelf. Now, that's perhaps slightly unfair to the Olympus lens, because if I were on a shoot with minimal hiking or one which I know would benefit from the additional reach of the 150 mm then it would most certainly accompany me. But I think it's probably going to end up around 80/20 in favour of the Lumix going forward. The bottom line is that to my experienced eye there is almost nothing to choose between them when it comes to image quality without extreme pixel peeping. Which I have always considered to be a complete waste of time 😊👍
Hi Dave, safe to say a really enjoyable video and a wonderful place to visit. Please pass my thanks to the man in the hat! .. Super images and evidently a very enjoyable trip for you. I perfectly understand why ... my limited experience of Norway is it is that it has many photogenic places and you evidently had a great "tour guide". I first watched the video on my phone, then thought, how silly I really must watch that on a proper screen, so I did. Thanks for again sharing, no chance of getting bored with those holday snaps!
That V and the tree line worked out great Dave for the first waterfall shot as you said. Absolutely splendid shot sir! The photographs throughout are all top notch looks like you bagged so many keepers and additions for your portfolio David.
I for one really enjoyed both videos David, and you brought home some cracking "holiday snaps"!! 😀Norway looks a fantastic country - my maternal great-grandfather was Norwegian and I've always wanted to visit there, but don't see it happening now. Keith
I really like what you brought back from the area around Harstad (which I know a little bit myself). It's a stunning part of Norway, not overrun, and I appreciate the focused approach you took to the landscapes there. Re: Lightweight equipment. Until not very long ago, my own lightweight centred around the Olympus Pen E-P5 (never upgraded to the F for reasons) and a few of the older fixed focus lenses, all of which worked perfectly nice. My only "gripes" were the mechanical delicateness of the E-P5 and the need to work with plastic bags in bad weather. Still: Very happy with this way. The "Big Guns" have their purposes, too, but not always. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I haven't owned that camera myself, but have heard from others that they enjoy it very much. And, as with anything, as long as you understand and compensate for its shortcomings you can still create some really good results. 😊👍
Dave, still loving the videos - thanks for sharing 🙏. I am going around the bend looking for a camera sling bag on line. Would you be so kind as to take us through your 9L Wandrd showing what you carry in there for a hike in the hills. A few minutes at the arse end of a video would be plenty. Cheers
Hi, happy to do that for you. Although I'm just on the verge of downsizing slightly to the 6L version of the same bag, as I realised I was carrying too much fresh air about in 9L!! But I've been using Wandrd bags for quite a while now and their tech pouches as you'll often see on my tripod so I can highly recommend them 😁👍
Thanks Dave, I am very confident in your recommendations but interesting to hear about the 9L size being too voluminous and that was something I was grappling with (looks somewhat large but better to have some space than everything crushed in. The bags are not stocked locally here to get my hands on. Maybe if you get the 6L please demo that in comparison 🙏👍@@DGriffGallery
Very impressive captures, sir! Thank you for sharing the beautiful trip and the fantastic work of production done! How would you rate the 20mm f1.4 as a landscape lens?
Hi, I'll probably be doing a fuller review of the lens as I feel it's been a bit overlooked and the reviews from its launch weren't hugely complimentary. But my experience with it so far is that it's very good indeed and certainly a better focal length for me personally as I was always in two minds between the 17 & 25 options. This has replaced both for me 😊👍
Brilliant set of images. .I was also interested in the bag you was carrying ,i have ben looking for a small bag to hold a couple of lenses filters and OM1 . could you reveal what your bag was it looked easy to carry ,thanks ,look forward to your next video.
I use the DJI Action 3 for most of the video, especially the parts where I'm doing some talking, along with a mix of video from the PEN-F and my iPhone 13 Mini 😊👍
Total was £611, including flights, paying for fuel and snacks for Willie. Also gifts for both my host and his lovely wife, Ketty, for their generous hospitality 😊👍
More great images from Norway, many thanks for sharing them. I recently got back from Bergen and have started to share those images too and I'd welcome your feedback if you get a chance 🙏😊 although most of mine were taken on a stormy day (seems we never get long enough on location some times 🤷♂)
Hmm, your camera isn’t full frame, it doesn’t have two card slots, you can’t shoot 120 frames pet second, you can’t use usb-c, so how did you take such great pictures ? Seriously, really nice. Enjoyed your experience and wonderful photos
Stunning images, what a wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Good day David, thank you for sharing your experience. Wonderful images.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Beautifully crafted images David. The Pen F & lenses did so well. Particularly like the 2 square crops and the shot at 12:37.
Hello David,
As always quality work.
I like your enthusiasm and the definitive image is very representative.
Thank you.
Many thanks! 😊👍
Fantastic images. Who said that a 20MP MFT camera cannot cut it for wonderful landscape photography?
A few cheeky shots DG. Glad you enjoyed it

You came away with some great images without visiting the Lofoten hotspots and brought back some good memories. Thanks for taking us on your holiday
Glad you enjoyed it, Pete 😊👍

A really enjoyable couple of episodes David, and the images you brought back were certainly not in the ‘holiday snaps’ category. Cheers.
Thanks a lot mate 😊👍
