Leah this was an inspired collaboration with Andrew, and you both created some stunning pieces. I agree that covering eyes divides people, but I often cover the eyes in my worl,it adds an air of mystery and changes identity too. Love and warwas a great starting idea, and re-visioning a famous painting is a realy goof chllange, I love that is is definitly your signasture style, bllut blended with so well with the syle of the original artist, and in te current climate. in the world, love and war as a notion seems really realevent as well. The scale also adds to the overall visual impact of the piece as well. The photo transfer was also an inspred addition to the piece,it invokes lost photos and memories and also burnt photos too. This made me think of a song by Ute emper called "Punishing Kiss" which is also the title of an album by her. This was such a great collaboration and I sense it gave you a new direction too. (matt) P.s in june 1958 a british group in the 80's relaesed an album called "Cupid & Psyche 85" you should listen to it if you can find to download online.,the final piece made me think of this album instantly. P.P.S still creating and posting pieces for your August prompt list too!
I agree that this really pushed me as an artist, and same on Andrew's end. I love these references and will check them out. Glad you're creating, I took a look and they look great! Hope you enjoy the last week of those prompts before moving on to the new September ones.
@@flanzella thank you,and thank you for the prompt lists,as they really challenge me creatively, some times once I have downloaded and printed out the list,as I read through them I get ideas straight away others come as I begin working. Again a video of you working with them would be wonderful, and inspiring,to see how you visualise them in your work(Matt)P.S can't wait for September's prompts.....
WoW!!! I love your piece. Andrew is one of my favorite peeps to watch here on RUclips . I have been enjoying your content and am inspired every week. Now I’m off to watch Andrew and see what he came up with ❤
@@flanzella, it's hard to find current collage artists- many seem to have slowed down on YT, but I am very fond of @LauraHenneforth- she has some really amazing ideas of using images (often model's faces from magazines) as templates. I also love Red Wizard, but he seems to have moved on to murals and other projects. Hope you find someone! :) Oh, @chaoticcollage is great as well, especially if you are interested in trying a video on collage zines. Who are other collage artists' you have found? I am always looking for others to see what ideas they try out- just like you with the transfer on this video- fun to watch and learn!
Came here from Reissued. I scrolled through (and followed) your insta. I'm soooo inspired now! I'm a creative person who loves to sew and do interior design, but doing art has always felt impossible for me. I really can't paint or sketch or anything, but this feels like a way for me to make art and feel the creativity flow without needing those abilities! I was in the thrift store today and now I wish I'd bought some old magazines 😅
Hello! I'm so happy you were inspired. This is really why I love collage. It really can be done by anyone and each person will make such unique work. I hope you give it a try, even with what you have at home. I'll forewarn you... It's addictive! 😂 If you're looking for inspiration on my Instagram, I have a highlight tab with art prompts to give you ideas of where to start.
This made my day, thank you ❤️ I'm still pretty new here (I've been posting for 10 months now) so hopefully over time more collage lovers will find me 🤗
Hi Leah. I was wondering if you would share what scanner you use ? I am considering one to keep copies of my originals. I need a bed at least 12 x 14. What size is yours?
Hi Susan! I use one from an old broken Brother printer 😂 it works too good to get rid of it but I am considering doing an upgrade soon. It's approximate bed size is about 13x19 which is great for scanning in elements. The bigger, the better!
It's a Life magazine cover. I think that's why it came off in such large chunks. Usually photo transfers I have to add water and wipe the back off. Highly recommend using the covers!
I saw your piece on reissued and loved it so much I had to see your process.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it. And welcome!

Hope it helps! When I end up buying a new one I'll definitely do a video on it

Is the phototransfer normal magazine paper??
