    Jordan built me a 2v for my 01 Bullitt. I just got the car together a month ago and hauled it to pro dyno in fort mill, SC. On 10psi from a vortech it was making 520whp at 5,200 rpm and i was running out of injector the reason for letting out early. Im taking it back tomorrow now that i have larger injectors but i have to say its already exceeded my expectations.

    What rods did he install in this build? I’m also doing a 5.8 based high compression TT build and I have Carrillos already but I’m wondering if I need to drop some coin on titanium connecting rods to take as much weight out of the rotating assembly as possible.

  •  3 года назад

    So for the rod to rod clearance if it were too tight how do you fix it without changing the weight?

    Is the thrust washer there for the same reason that mmr uses the spacer on there boss 302 On the 4.75 Stroker since the last journal is wider then original so they use a spacer.... Only thing that worries my about my short block lol

    To the builder: What and where is the "ringland” on each piston? I’ve always assumed what you called the oil scraper was it, but you don’t seem like the type to not use proper terms for things. So can you spread a little knowledge? Thanks for passing this question on to him Andrew!

    • @FiteTheGoodFight
      @FiteTheGoodFight 4 года назад

      Ring lands are the part of the piston that keep all the rings(ring pack) separated. Ring lands are what tend to break off the piston if the ring gap is too tight. Usually under high cylinder temps, such as during boost or nitrous.

      Other race engine builders use it as well and swear by it for the exact reasons he said. These engines with low friction rings seat more quickly in the critical moments after start up.

    • @BC08
      @BC08 4 года назад +2

      Year, with those C-33 stainless top rings you want a tougher surface on start up to promote seating. A heavy assembly lube is not ideal.

    There are a few things I prefer to do different. That doesn’t mean ether of us are wrong. Building a engine is art, some people use crayons and never even learned the basics.Then there are those of us that want a masterpiece so we use the materials that we believe are best suited for the job and the techniques that we have practiced and perfected though shared knowledge and experience. Then you have everything in between.
    Great job great video
