@MediaUnlocked I will mostly be using it to photograph automotive scale models. I set up a light box but there is still a lot I have to learn in order to get the pictures just right. This really helps out, thanks again!
There´s one custum function, that I´m finding pretty practical: it´s the one that takes the AF away from the shutter release button, so that you have to push the *-Button in order to focus. When I´m shooting portraits I´m using this function along with the middle focus point selected. This allows me to focus precisely on the eyes first and then getting the accurate metering result when I´m choosing the final frame for the portrait.
I have a new T3i and new to photography but I'm a very technical person for many years making learning curve easier. Most ppl are more general so I appreciate ur details here. Even tho this is T2i it is still very helpful. My goal asap is to upload good macro stock photos. Have studied them in high zoom & trying to make them look just as good as the best so found u for more training. I have a tent & great lighting setup, now WB better making pic brighter. Do u have T3i training also?
Straight to the point and very well explained I wondered what a couple of items did on my camera such as the + and - through the lens finder did and couldn't check manual as it was from Hong Kong XD thanks a lot watching all your videos :)
Thanks David, great video. I am an average user who likes the quality of the Canon. I sometimes take quick, portrait shots but most of the time want to force a fill-in flash. It would be great if it would auto-set the exposure, etc. but I find I can only do this in Manual mode. I'm I missing some way to control the flash better?
Thanks a lot, I am starting a beauty blog and can't wait to start taking pictures with my camera :) Please can you give me tips on how to capture some detail stuff like hair styles?
Very very helpful guide. Thousands miles away from the US (live in the beautiful mountain area in Nepal), I'm getting lots of useful hints of excellent photography. I have one big problem, while shooting video, it stops automatically after few seconds. I've used 16 GB class 4 SD card. Is it a problem of memory card or video setting ? Also please guide us in getting nice pictures using various photography modes for shooting mountains, nature and portraits. Thanks a lot...
You had an error in your video. The "low level format" option in the menu does actually do a more thorough formatting than the regular format. This is a good choice as sometimes there is corrupted data on the card and sometimes pix will not want to write properly. If you do a low level format it will erase all images and clean up the card to remove the bad spots so you wont have any issues. A very good idea to do this.
hi!! im planning to buy my first dslr probably eos550d,so what are the important things that I need to check just to make sure that its really b-new and in perfect condition?
Hi, I've been watching your clips on the Rebel T2i. My husband just got me this camera and I am very new to photography. I previously took photos from my phone, so trying to learn a camera is so new to me. I am a very basic learner to EVERYTHING. Is there a clip that goes over the very basic and slower so I can understand a little better? Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the info! Really has improved my camera and shooting skills! But if you go to a small quality you get better pictures? I thought the large was for better picture quality? Give me some info on that?
@MediaUnlocked Well, I just have the card, I don't have the specification but I can tell u there is an adapter and one little card. Micro SD 4GB Kingston. Is that help?
Here you go man The curves displayed next to each size is the quality setting. The smoother curve means higher quality, and the blocky curve means lower quality. The quality is defined by the amount of compression that is performed on the photo. Lower quality photos that are highly compressed are smaller in size. This will allow you to store more photos on a memory card.
hi, i'm thinking about getting the T2i and a friend of mine told me that the lens that comes with it its not the best one, so he told me it would be better to get the body only and then buy another lens separately with the "f" less than 3 wich are better. So what do u think ??
How do you change the ISO when the camera is in automatic? I get a message that you cannot change when in this mode. I have changed to manual and changed the ISO but cannot in Automatic. Can you please help me? Thanks! By the way, this is a very good tutorial in explaining each function of this camera.
Awesome video since I forgot all of functions on my Camera. Once you have shot pics on Raw is there a way to change them to JPG? I tried changing the extension of CRA to JPG and that did not work. What I need is to reduce the pics to JPG.
I like the way that you describe things in your tutorials for the most part - you are very thorough. BUT, I was trying to follow along w/ you and my camera in hand during your tutorial and found it would be much more helpful if you would not say "this button or that button" but to give the name of the button or the location of the button for a better understanding for your students. It would be easier for people to follow along. Just saying. Thanks
yes I just got a t2i and I was messing with the green menu which is the very last menu item my menu settings is what it's called you briefly said yeah just don't mess with these well too late I've already messed with those and that very first one it says register to my menu I think I went inside that and I thought I was doing right by making everything work after clicking a couple of things it no longer allowed me to see well they weren't lit up like they were before but now I'm afraid to go back and hit the delete there's two different deletes and I don't want to delete the whole phone information I'm just wondering if it's safe will it reset it back to its default mode if I hit one of those delete items/ item ? 22:20 this is the time stamp where your talking about it
Do you recommend Magic Lantern for the t2i? Would anything happen to the camera like glitchy menus and pics? Do you see a significant difference in your pics and videos by using Magic Lantern?
I have a serious question... I was going through my camera menu and I dont have as many options as you do... I only have 1 red box 2 blue boxes and 2 yellow boxes... Why is this its a Canon EOS Rebel T2i
Can someone please tell me if it is possible to change the self-timer value on this camera? I see it has a default value of 2 seconds, but I don't how to change this (or if it can be changed). Any help appreciated, cheers.
I am unable to record on my cannon t21.. It starts recording then shuts off in two seconds automatically. Am I missing a step?? Thought I should just have to set it to video and then press the record button
At 9:46, under the Quality setting, I noticed that there are shapes next to the resolution sizes. For instance, one "L" has a stair like jagged/squared off shape next to it, but the other "L" has a smooth/round shape which resembles a quarter of a circle. Can anyone explain the difference in detail? I was hoping that the video would've mentioned the difference. Thanks!
At 7:48, I have set the same iso, aperature and shutter speed like yours, how come your is: [602] ... what exactly does that number tells me? Mine reads [294].
thank u very much the vidio is so good, i want to take photos for my paintings for my blog ..it is always come blared and very pal pls advice what to do
On the first day I got it, I read through the manual and it hardly taught me anything. Your videos taught me a LOT more. Thank you so much!
i just got my 550D today and i was going to take up a tutorial course. Not needed after watching your vids - Thank you for saving me $300
Thank you for giving a detailed instruction to how to use this canon t2i camera. It gave me greater knowledge to learn this camera. Very useful!!
Happy I could help

@Hyinkm If you are doing photos only I would go with the t3i over the t2i especially if you planning on doing flash
Straight to the point and very well explained I wondered what a couple of items did on my camera such as the + and - through the lens finder did and couldn't check manual as it was from Hong Kong XD thanks a lot watching all your videos :)
Do you have some basic settings you set the camera on when you go out to shoot some pictures, or do you adjust settings for each items you shoot at?
Thanks David, great video. I am an average user who likes the quality of the Canon. I sometimes take quick, portrait shots but most of the time want to force a fill-in flash. 8 People had to learn about it themselves :D

hi!! im planning to buy my first dslr probably eos550d,so what are the important things that I need to check just to make sure that its really b-new and in perfect condition?
peripheral illumin correction function removes vignetting - particularly for fisheye type lenses. Great walk through though. Keep up the good job.

Im getting a new camrea on a budget and the T2i was one of the best options for a good camrea
@mediaunlocked Can you show the sensor cleaning setting?
Thanks for the info! Really has improved my camera and shooting skills! But if you go to a small quality you get better pictures? I thought the large was for better picture quality? Give me some info on that?
@maglanit Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 is a great lenes
@skybitscom Yes I do and thanks for the complement
@MediaUnlocked Well, I just have the card, I don't have the specification but I can tell u there is an adapter and one little card.
Micro SD 4GB Kingston.
Is that help?
Good video. Thanks. At 12:54 my camera wont let me control that function. Nothing happens when I scroll the wheel. Any thoughts?

@Da1UdReAmAbOuT You can use the one were the guy is running if you want to do automatice or put it in M and keep your shutter around 250 or higher
hello bagis, what's the best zoom lens can you recomend for a beginner like me, i have eos 550d.
what does the button under lens release button do? (the depth of field button- whts its work? can u make a video?)
...

How do you change the ISO when the camera is in automatic? I get a message that you cannot change when in this mode. I have changed to manual and changed the ISO but cannot in Automatic. Can you please help me? Thanks! By the way, this is a very good tutorial in explaining each function of this camera.
What card reader would recommend buying?
@bagredositio I agree if you can just buy the body only and get a 28-752.8 tamron lens would be your best bet
Raw is the best quality when shooting pictures
Thanks,
you are a very good teacher!
Very informative, now what I have to do next is have the camera at hand to better follow the video. Thanks!
@napsterjhake Are you buying it new or used
Do you need a card reader for the magic lantern update? When i plug my camera in this does not come up in my finder.
How do you reset that dial at 4.00? Is there a function somewhere or do you have to do it manually?
Yo D, what was the purpose of taking the shot of the white background?
What mode does he have his camera set to in this video?
GREAT GREAT VIDEO. I'll have to review again tomorrow. Thank you
happy to help
@king8ball1 Thanks for the kind words
A thing worth remembering is that at high ISO settings you get less noise by using medium size instead of maximum size.
@paddlepopkids Try to keep your iso under 800 or less and apature at its lowest and shutter will have to be your call
@rjha1985 If you have a class 6 or lower the camera will only record for few seconds
Awesome video since I forgot all of functions on my Camera. Once you have shot pics on Raw is there a way to change them to JPG? I tried changing the extension of CRA to JPG and that did not work. What I need is to reduce the pics to JPG.
I think the wheel does it. Its been a long time. It under your menu.

@mnmtwinz If I had a T3 I would but I dont the buttons should be similar.
@fatf It does not matter as long it can read an sd card
@ArturoDabdoub I agree
Low iso and a higher f-stop to get all the detail in the hair.
You can not change your Iso under automatic settings. Automatic does every thing for you.
