Animatronics are pretty much the heart of the franchise. In the words of James Rolfe, "Sometimes it's better when there's actually something in front of the camera."
Seeing these absoloutely amazing animatronics was such a nostalgia factor for this movie. Just like how the original had a great balance between gci and practical effects. Say what u will about dominion, you can't lie that all the dinosaurs looked amazing.
Big disagree. Not a fan of the mutant croc monster they tried to pass off as a genetically pure giga, or the pyroraptor. The puppets are my biggest interest in filmmaking. They are art, detailed and very REAL. Something you can see and touch- not just an illusion. Jurassic park is forever king of these practices and I hope to god they continue this in media. It’s just- alive.
If I was in that situation I would have the extremely strong urge to pet every single one of those puppets like I have whenever the Roomba passes by me.
Growing up as a kid I I was probably 9 or 10 I was in awe. For 2 months out of 2 years. They had an exhibit at the fairgrounds. They had the Land Dinosaurs one year and the Aquatic Dinosaurs the next. They moved kinda like how the Dinos moved on the Jurassic World ride in California. It was so amazing to see such brilliance. But the thing I picked up from the Jurassic Franchise was from behind the scenes. You can be anything if you put your mind to it. I loved how they wanted everything perfect. They even went to museums so they could get their facts correct for every species portrayed in the films. I can never just watch one film I have to do them in a marathon. Lol.
Yep which is cool as it means more types of animals besides dinosaurs can be introduced. Dimetrodon for example was a proto mammal called a Synapsid. Even though its not a direct ancestor it is related to humans and current mammalian species on earth today.
The amazing detail for dinosaurs with seconds of screen time it’s a shame people say it’s garbage the movie is amazing I love every dinosaur great job on the hard works
Yeah I think it's the second best one after Jurassic Park...tops all the sequels...they made the effort to keep up the spirit of the original movie unlike the others
@@mmm8494 I agree with you. The Lost World is the BEST Jurassic movie after the first Jurassic Park movie! This last one was just a nostalgia Jurassic movie.
What a shame. All my childhood heroes back for the first time together since 93 and they get put into one of the most awful big budget movies I’ve ever seen. All the magic of the first four Jurassic films were completely gone from this one. I thought Fallen Kingdom was the worst originally but this one takes the cake. It felt more like a bad Mission Impossible sequel than anything else. The dinosaurs carried zero gravitas behind them and the movie was painfully dull and slow. I don’t know how the describe it. The pacing was fast but the actual action within the scenes were way too drawn out. Terrible plot and horrible ending to a franchise I loved so dearly. Jurassic Park 1, 2, 3, and World will always hold a special place in my heart.
I love that they didn't go all CGI with the dinosaurs. The best thing about the original Jurassic Park and why it holds up still to this day is because the dinosaurs were actually real. I remember the stories about the T-Rex and how it kind of had a mind of it's own and it could be unpredictable when it moved.

Special make up artist, special costumes, animatronic, miniature, property, all practical sel ... All works together as an illusion that established visual effect. CGI is always used but at bare minimum, VFX portion > CGI Practical effect > Digital visual effect. Thats the most smooth way to make proper movie so that viewers cannot tell which is real or not in movie. Full cgi makes people aware the environment is fake and unblend

To bad there’s hardly any used in these newer movies, they suck.
