As a Bangladeshi, its the best song of this season.... Really embrace Bengali culture and history real good....
It was the swan song of this season. It was a combination of two songs. The song 'Hey samalo' refers to the tevaga movement which happend in the aftermath of bengal famine(1943 AD/1350 bengal year). Likewise 'Ora amar mukher vasha' refers to the language movement against the then west pakistani ruler who tried to impose Urdu as national and only language to bengali people.
There are two parts in this song.
1st part about Torture of British against Farmers & farmers protest. 2nd part refers to the Language Movement when Bangladesh was a province of Pakistan.
it's the best song of this season, and also the last one.. it was an experimental season as far it's been releasing the songs.. the theme or plot is about the 1952 language movement and the "Tevaga Movement"..
This song about farmers protect and language movement . 1st part is about farmers protection against landlord called " tevaga andolon" in 1946 and 2nd part is about language movement in 21/02/1952. (And become international mother language day )
Boyatis are Baul singers, the most popular form of folk music found throughout Bengal.
Boyati and Baul are two different forms of Bengali folk music. Boyati is mostly influenced by Sufism where Baul is mostly influenced by Bengalism which is based on Free Spirituality.
Though Bangla is not your mother tongue, your expression tells that you could grasp the main theme of the song. And as if you could swim in the stream of melody of the song. Such thing reveals in every reaction you gave to the songs released till date by Coke Studio Bangla. Here I could see your intelligence, realization power and passion to music and I also can feel your soft and sacred soul, which is rare now-a-days. You are really a blessed child on earth.
Boyati means ``Bangladeshi Muslim singers whom are singing Sufi song in Bangla Language``
Thanks for such reaction on the song which is completely based on the glorious history of Bengal. Here I'm talking about the undivided Bengal as well as the India by the time of British East India Company.
Where Cornwallis forcefully imposed the "Permanent Settlement" upon the farmers of Bengal and Bihar later on the other parts of India. Before that, the farmers were the owner of the land. But after 1793 this created another type of rulers called "Zamindar". The role of Zamindar was to collect the taxes from the rural peoples( better to say farmers because maximum population of India at that time used to earn their livelihood by harvesting). So, the rule was like, the Zamindars of an area had to collect the tax from the farmers and it was the half of the crops in amount. Whereas, the Zamindars became the Landlords so they ruled their area as an Empire. In 1936 All India Farmers Association decided not to give such amount of crops as tax. It's because, the land, seeds and effort all the other things needed the farmers had to arrange them for cultivation. So, in 1940 A.K. Fazlul Haque the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal set up an other law on the behalf of farmers. It was under "Floud Commission". The aim was to divide the amount of crops in 3 equal parts, 2/3 portion for the farmers and 1/3 portion for the government directly. So, actually it was not only to give the major portion of the harvest to the farmers, but also to connect the tax system directly to the government. The name of the movement against the "Permanent settlement" was "Te- Vaga" (that means divide into three).
It became successful in between 1949-1953 or may be 1955. And "Hey samalo" is all about the movement.
The next one "Ora amar mukher vasa kaira nite chay" is about the movement for Bangla as the state language of East - Pakistan(Bangladesh now) before 16th December 1971. It was started at 8th December 1947. Pakistani government tried to impose Urdu as the state language all over the Pakistan. Where, the 54% of total population at that time of Pakistan were Bengalis and the rest major languages were Punjabi, Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun. Just a fraction of total population used to speak in Urdu. Later on the whole world knows, what happened in 21st February 1952.
And Boyati are folk singers same alike the "Street Singers"( better to say nomads) who express their spiritual and thoughts for humanity to the peoples specially in rural areas via song.
Wish you a good luck. 💐

Boyati means folk singer
Boyaty means ..... group of singers gaow gaow jaker gana gata hai........
I am having fun singing. I'm crushing on your smile more than that 😇😇
Boyati = Bards, a group of folk artists of Bangladesh, they are mainly famous of a folk form of rap. The scatting in the middle is "Raibesh", a form of chant similar as kabadi players, only this time it is from a war chant/dance.
These two songs are revolutionary songs, but music has no barrier that reflects on your reaction.
Keep smiling 🤎
Boyati means village singer

We are missing your reaction on new season.
The first indigenous flute is called 'plung' of the mro tribe
This song is a "middle finger" to the West PK govt of 1947-1971 who tried to eradicate the Bengali language and culture.

o mai kotha na sona tumi jaio na bangla music song please reaction please please react
foke singers are called "boyati" who sing in villages, roads using their own instruments like "ektara", "dhol",
but nowadays boyaties are getting richer so that they don't sing like that anymore...😅 they got production houses for them to make songs...
Last song from coke studio bangla 😭
boyati means folk singer
Google translator is there to help us understanding foreign languages. Before giving reaction & review it is better to read the description heedfully. Boyatis are folk singers, they present song with dance and description along with dotara (two string instrument), dhol, flute, etc. The culture of Indian sub-continent is almost same, the way of expression is little bit different. Greetings always.
