Yeah I gave up and grabbed the blood arm weapon and just bleed/stagger cheesed him. Even using that weapon it still took me like 30 tries. This boss is nuts

it is dodgable but only if you are positioned correctly. Its really tricky. I madaged to get a 10% success rate on that attack which is horrible but its something
that's a very odd thing i hear many people say, because i think i consistently dodged the entire thing, you just have to dodge the first one very early, morgott's uppercut parry style
I dodged it successfully on accident a few times by getting a perfect angle on my roll to his right side. It probably happened 4 times out of a 1000. What a dastardly attack lol
@Supercrafter3000 yeah its a frame trap from infront, you might be able to do it without crucible feather but it looks way too tight. it looks more consistent if ur at his sides (i think to his left but could be both) so you can roll/strafe the first swipe then second doesn't hit u. It means ur aggression is much more limited tho
I think about stuff like this all the time. I’m like, “A tarnished couldn’t really be Elden Lord, there’s no way he could actually beat all these Demi-gods.” Then I’m like, “Wait, but I actually did.” Cut out the 1000 times I died lol but really, I think it’s kinda cool.
What disturbs me most about this whole thing is Radahn never says...anything. No grunts of exertion. No battle cry. Nothing ever leaves his mouth, we NEVER get anything from him directly. I don't know if we ever hear his voice beyond Starscourage Radahn's inarticulate roars.

Yes it makes the ten times easier but it also removes the joy out of victory for some people (again it’s fine if you use these strats, it’s a personal choice).
@holyknighthodrick5223 depends how you look at it, up until Elden Ring I think this series was very clearly designed around going summonless with summons as an additional option. Bosses felt fundamentally fair (besides some janky ones) and as though they were designed as such. Elden Ring comes along and bosses are victims of power creep, suddenly they have to have bombastic moves which are extremely hard to dodge in order to uphold the series’ notion of being ‘difficult’. Now personally I think the bosses were fine on the whole, didn’t struggle too much even with the final boss (albeit I think he’s poorly designed) but that doesn’t discredit some of the criticism. Even if Elden Ring bosses were designed around spirits (Miyazaki said that Spirits were there to make the game more accessible and simpler, Google this and you’ll see it in an interview) then it’s a sudden change from the previous titles and for long time fans they’ll never use the summons. If a boss is so difficult and unfair it stands to reason that one will and can complain that the boss is purposely difficult in order to force the player into using spirits. Again I don’t think they’re that bad but it’s not an invalid criticism. The entire summon discourse is bad for the game and community ultimately. Let people do what they want but I am personally of the mind that bosses have and always will be designed around singleplayer experiences.
The gameplay is, of course, immaculate as always -- but oh man, this music is incredible. The callbacks in phase 1 to Radahn's original music, and then the shift in Phase 2 to something more spiritual and triumphant, as opposed to the almost funereal Phase 2 in the original fight... perfect.
Was stuck on this boss for a bit, watched this video and got him the try after. The key is sticking on him even in his 2nd phase even though it looks scary. Thanks, Ongbal!

I feel like they specifically added the Deflecting Hardtear just so Fromsoft can see Ongbal use his Sekiro skills to beat some of their most broken bosses with ease.
Man let the full cutscene play because he's only doing this once. Also having the controller there with the inputs is actually very cool to visually see the reaction times. You can go by the video frame by frame and see "This animation here is when you should do the thing like I do."
i’ve been trying so hard to avoid spoilers but my recommended is FILLED with this boss and how hard he is. consort radahn is for sure about to bring about that same feeling of hopelessness as when i first fought malenia
Went to the DLC with my Noble's Slender Sword and didn't struggled on anything except Messmer. But this dude... Spent more than 10+ hours trying to beat him and i finally did but, wtf were they thinking ? At least now i can come to him with a broken build and destroy him as he did with me. F*ck the double slash into cross combo
That combo was a nightmare. At some point during my run, I thought I figured out what triggers that attack and after a lot of trial and error, I thought I was all set... On literally my next attempt, he just walked up to me and did it. Not as a follow up or anything, he ran at me and did the combo. It felt so personal.
honestly now that I think back to when the base game first came out, even Radahn himself and a few other bosses had to be nerfed, hopefully they don't take too long to do it though. having to go look for the extra Scadutree fragments that I missed was absolutely boring

I've been trying to win this fight for 2 and a half hours now (NG+2, Lvl 283 and max Scadu/Revered). This video is hillarious to me, because I find this boss impossible to defeat in Phase 2 😂😭 I tip my proverbial hat 🎩 to you, good sire, magnificent display of skill and bravery!
I tear up at that cutscene everytime. I could honestly care less about the weird random story and the incredibly hard boss and the awful arena just for that moment. ‘Aspiring lord of the old older’ as the sunlight touches them both.. goosebumps
This was the one boss that gave me real trouble in the DLC, and that too by a wide margin. Nothing else even came close to how difficult it was. Great work as usual Ongbal 👏
So by the looks of it if they patch that one undodgeable 3 swipe that you had to deflect, this would be a perfectly fine boss lol, not what I would expect based on the criticism
Having to summon Thiollier to finish St. Trina's questline makes this fight so much harder for absolutely zero reason. Thiollier is useless at best (even if he decides he wants to enter the fight) and the only thing he does is give Radahn more HP.
I had him down to about 10% HP when I realized Thiollier never crossed the fog wall. One of the funniest moments of the DLC for me, but all I could think in the moment was WTF. Died shortly after.

You're the goat, i just want to say i learned how to parry him just for this bossfight, i learned it by trying to parry him again and again it took me 6:30 hours to kill him what a fun game 10/10 wouldn't recomend my friends their not good at these games
Learned and confirmed so much from just this one video alone about dodge patters and ways to handle mechanics. Only move I didn’t see him do is the gravity pull into the AOE
The moment You SEE him glow purple you just need to roll, in case he pulls you run backwards and jump and you won't be hit by the AoE Even if it looks you are inside of the final rocks, it gives time to chung or use a ranged AoW
You know its hard af when Ongbal only use one weapon, one ash, full blessing, and run entirely to the fucking edge of the arena. Thats what's needed to no damage these cursed combos. Good job Ongbal!

parrying this boss trivializes half of his moveset its way harder to do a non parry attempt
I've been trying to win this fight for 2 and a half hours now (NG+2, Lvl 283 and max Scadu/Revered). This video is hillarious to me, because I find this boss impossible to defeat in Phase 2 😂😭

I tear up at that cutscene everytime. I could honestly care less about the weird random story and the incredibly hard boss and the awful arena just for that moment. ‘Aspiring lord of the old older’ as the sunlight touches them both.. goosebumps
This was the one boss that gave me real trouble in the DLC, and that too by a wide margin. Nothing else even came close to how difficult it was. Great work as usual Ongbal 👏
So by the looks of it if they patch that one undodgeable 3 swipe that you had to deflect, this would be a perfectly fine boss lol, not what I would expect based on the criticism
In phase two he becames undodgeable for me because the holy spam lags out my pc lol

Having to summon Thiollier to finish St. Trina's questline makes this fight so much harder for absolutely zero reason. Thiollier is useless at best (even if he decides he wants to enter the fight) and the only thing he does is give Radahn more HP.
I had him down to about 10% HP when I realized Thiollier never crossed the fog wall. One of the funniest moments of the DLC for me, but all I could think in the moment was WTF. Died shortly after.
Nah did you kill Ansbach?! He is the GOAT in this fight, bro knows how to take a hit, deal damage and get agro like a champ, plus when he dies bro his last words will hit hard!

You're the goat, i just want to say i learned how to parry him just for this bossfight, i learned it by trying to parry him again and again it took me 6:30 hours to kill him what a fun game 10/10 wouldn't recomend my friends their not good at these games

I’m using a Colossal Greatsword and I’m getting punished for trying to swing at any moment in the fight.
Learned and confirmed so much from just this one video alone about dodge patters and ways to handle mechanics. Only move I didn’t see him do is the gravity pull into the AOE
I am not sure if the pull is even dodgeable if you are close to him.
@ApollousasBear it is, but you need to dodge backwards immediately
The moment You SEE him glow purple you just need to roll, in case he pulls you run backwards and jump and you won't be hit by the AoE Even if it looks you are inside of the final rocks, it gives time to chung or use a ranged AoW

3:22 how come he spawns further away from him? I always spawned basically in front of him phase 2
If you use a critical attack to enter the phase transition, for some reason it spawns you further away

You know its hard af when Ongbal only use one weapon, one ash, full blessing, and run entirely to the fucking edge of the arena. Thats what's needed to no damage these cursed combos.
