19:00 The Age Unique Edicts is different from the Edicts gained through Splendor. I am guessing it is the Feudal taxes for the Age of Discovery that gives +50% taxes modifier.
The unique state edicts did work, I think. It’s just that they aren’t the same edict as in the ages screen (there was a state edict with 50% local tax - not sure if that’s apart of Swedish flavour though)
Here's an idea for the Livonians - Once the Reformation starts they can also reform and secularize their state with their mission tree and through one such mission you get to basically choose between 9 or 10 different government reforms through a chain of decisions. And there is one mission which just gives you a lot of bonuses to mercenaries and in the gamefile PDX described it as "If you want to meme". But there are also some other really cool reforms, like one for blobbing (-15% CC), a vassal horde, a plutocracy and even a thalassocracy. Was a lot of fun to play the Livonians.
By the way, the AI extending regency happens pretty regularly, if the AI is at risk of falling into a personal union with their current heir. The Ai does this to try and avoid the PU. i once had a game where my dynasty got on the throne of Georgia (and i wasn't allied to them) , then the ruler died while the heir was 2, i offered a royal marriage to be able to claim the throne, and the regent, who was 20, kept extending the regency until the heir died at the age of 72. the damn queen regent was 92 when the heir died, and she died shortly after with no heir, so a new member of my dynasty got on the throne (luckily with no heir, so i was still able to claim the throne).
Teutonic Order is definitely my favourite out of this DLC. Both paths that is. The slow converstion into a horde while mostly keeping the theocracy government is such a cool thing in my opinion. And the Prussia path is actually fun because it's not as free of a conquest as it is with Brandenburg, since you don't start as an HRE member and usually get the restricted membership at best.
That ad got me good actually, in my Poland run it’s about 1550 and I was in a war against pope man with 75% cav combat, he had 53k stack, (his ENTIRE army) on Prague, and I marched a 30 stack with 20k reinforcements and wiped it, as the first battle of the war, I couldn’t believe my eyes
As of 2 days ago I started a vanilla MP run with all dlc and played as Sweden, I had England, Poland and burgundy helping me and it turns out that there is a bug with the AI where they just stop using their ships or their navy completely. I noticed the England had not moved their ships even once for the first like 30 years, they were losing to Scotland due to France alliance and France could actually invade them, until we restarted the game then England suddenly was able to fight both Scotland and France and they won, they made a full recovery and unsurprisingly started moving their fleet as well
in your case, since Poland was the only nation with that dynasty, they would've been in the very small like 7 year window of time where an actual succession war would happen, instead of just your dynasty getting on the throne
On my playthrough i started improving with austria from the start, was able to join the empire after taking the denmark part of Sweden, made the german coast line far easier. Also love your dog
If you fight the independence war without allies and without taking estate support you get som pretty nice bonuses that help you out a lot(monarch points, splendour, prestige etc..)
I do fond it quite hilarious how over powered they made Sweden. Totally no bias on the developers end for what was really a regional power, especially in comparison to the British and Spanish empires
It's really easy to go full-on Catholic with Sweden, too. Going hard into controlling the Papacy eventually lets you take control of the Emperor. I didn't expect to unify the HRE in my Sweden run, but that's where it went.
That unique states edict gives 50% tax in discovery, is a waste of time for reformation, -10 years of separatism in absolutism, and 33% goods produced in revolutions, it’s actually pretty good
Norway is fun and you can get real space 'marines'! I haven't tried Denmark and Sweden yet so they are in the queue once I finish Mewar (just desired warm weather and their space marines). Oh, a note on that, Ming is a lot more aggressive - it forced tributary Delhi and Tansoxiana! They of course exploded which timed well with seizing Delhi.
Exact same thing happened to me with the Norway thing. Weird that the CB does run out, usually Mission CBs like that are permanent. Even most mission tree *claims* are permanent. I ended up doing the same transfer subject thing and it worked out just fine.
Well .. I tried it and as usuall, Paradox snuffed me again and again and again over the Polish Crown. If I was dealing with paranoia, that game could seriously blow my mind.
You know i think that if sweden gets a vasa poland should get a piast if they pick local noble and bohemia a presmlyd. since both were still alive in 1444 and could have become kings again then.
I'm not sure if I'm just misreading this comment, but Gustav Vasa was actually the King of Sweden once they broke free, so it's not like it's an alt hist scenario of a previous dynasty returning
Is it possible to give my southern American animist vassal 1 of my Scandinavian provinces? Because usually it says it's too far (but maybe it wouldn't be if my vassal borders the sea?)
