I think the reason for no response initially is because that business is fickle they can have someone else in mind for the part and still be auditioning for different reasons. They could also really like your but can’t tell it cause they know nothings etched in stone. They still have to run the choices through the producers and directors. The upper management may not like your face regardless to skill you may have offended their friend a long time ago. So to not get someone feelings going they wait til they know you have it. Shit with lead roles they reread after being told you have the part. They want to see if you read well with your other lead you can still be but I’ve heard a lot of actors say that. Basically a lot of politics🤷🏾♂️
