Been following your channel/build for a while now and thank you for all the knowledge I’ve gained from you as these cars are not massively popular here in the U.K.
Being a young car enthusiast with no friends or family that truly share my passion with, this really spoke to me. I lived right down the road from CO and Fitment, and I would drive past and slow down to look at the cars every chance that I could. I just picked up a B8 S4 and can’t wait to make those great relationships with other people in the car scene, as before I have always been too afraid to ask, as I never had a cool car or that much knowledge. Keep up the great work over there.
B8 S4's are Awesome i just picked up my b8.5 s4 about a month ago and its awesome its amazing how far under the radar these things fly (and i do mean FLY)
Growing up, I helped my dad work on cars. I don't know how to do a lot of hands on, Got more textbook knowing how things should work. But I learn from videos and friends and mechanics. I soon will be getting my first car at 20/21yo. An 04 Mazda 3 Hatch with a manual. I want to work on it. Figure it out for myself. It won't be fast, might be ugly to others or dumb, but it will be mine. Appreciate this video on the fact that you don't need experience, you just need a will to learn.
hey man, it’s awesome that you’re jumping into something you’re interested in and using your resources, good luck with your mazda 3 i’m sure you’ll make many great experiences with the car
Tips for your mazda: -watch for rust (clean and protect often) -lots of ford parts on first gen with weird design choices. -if you have a 2.3l, keep oil in it and change regularly. 2.3l MZR’s can be finicky. -corksport has never failed me -JBR has never failed me. -if you havent modded anything: change motor mounts and rear sway bar end links. Both easy to do and necessary, as those go bad quick on first and second gen mazda 3’s. -join Mazda3revolution on fb, and Mazda 3 Owners Club.
I cried because how I related to learning in my own spending countless nights studying, im waiting to finally have a life changing moment with a car of my own
Honestly gives me hope with my engine build .... I have little car experience and am trying the online tutorial version of turbo-ing my gs300. Thanks for the ideas
Literally bought my first real car last Saturday, a Toyota Celica ST202 from '94. I grew up with my dad being a car mechanic, so in terms of "how does car work" I definitely know a little bit, but never really fixed anything myself other than looking at my dad fixing things while I handed him tools. With this car I hope to create a build that shows "me", I will attempt to build it to fit my personality. Very glad I watched this video, really well done on the production of it and the message in it is one many need to hear, not just in the car community. If you want to do something, do it. By failing but then continuing to work on it you will improve over time. And at Jake, you have a voice that fits narration, dude! Like the moment you started talking and there was this aerial footage of your BMW I honestly believed to be in a documentary of sorts. Great stuff. Could honestly listen to that while watching aerial footage of cars with atmospheric music in the background for hours haha
I am 17 now and bought my 335i at 16. Like you I had no one in my family that knew about them. Thanks to people like you I was able to work on my own car and now am doing a huge overhaul ST kit just like you. Thank you
I've always had a spot for cars but my family didnt really care for them as much as relying on them for transport. I started going through forums and videos around 2015 to try and learn everything I could about cars given they are very complicated machines. I am now on my last semester as a Mechanical Engineer undergrad with some internships lined up in the automotive field and I couldn't be more excited. My buddy also gets his hands on some crazy cars that we will go for some drives in when he has the time such as a 2020 C63S AMG, 2020 GT 63 AMG, and yesterday I drove a 2018 R8 RWS which I had the opportunity to give my mom a short ride in it and she started to see why I enjoyed cars so much. I have a 2007 mini cooper 6speed that I do a lot of maintenance on that taught me a lot and I can't wait to swap in some coilovers and tires to really make it fun
So great to see Jake featured like this here! He is helping me through his videos right now to make my new to me 2008 335i I bought for $1900.00 CAD a fun power machine! Thank you Jake for all you do!!!
I started building my first race car, a 1989 Chevy S10 V8. It was swapped but is being wired, plumped and tuned by me. I’ve used the internet and my dad for everything from parts to tune suggestions. Right now it is easing down in the 11s and I’m eyeing to get into the 10 hopefully by the end of this year. This gives me hope
I'm a huge bmw fan , first bmw I fell in love with was 1990 bmw e30 325i coupe. I was pretty young around 11 12 yo , the sound of that inline six still in my head ! Great video, very inspiring and well made .
Coming from someone who just recently got their first BMW; 2011 335i M Sport, Seeing amazing videos like this gives me the motivation I need to build my car how I want and take it to next level. You guys knocked it out of the park. I hope to see more videos like this in the future :-)
Yeah I just bought my first car after months of saving and am trying to figure it out as I go along. Being the only person in my family who has a serious passion for cars I had to teach myself how to drive stick, which has definitely been an experience to say the least but it feels rewarding being able to drive stick now. I feel so proud driving it around, despite the fact it’s an old 95 Volvo 850 wagon
Watching this a year later as an e82 owner looking to buy a 135 or a 1M in the future, it’s amazing to see appreciation for these cars. For what they are, these cars are amazing. Even just a 120i, that’s a NA 4cyl has amazing handling, is comfortable and the power is more than what you expect in that engine. Will forever love these cars, made me love BMW
this dude is awesome, big inspiration for me, I feel the same way, I wasn't born with a wrench instead of a baby bottle, even worse I don't have a place to wrench anymore lol. but It isn't easy not having someone to guide you through, a lot of trial and error
Vehicular DIY Is who I found before you . and I would like to thank both of you guys for your effort in sharing your knowledge on this platform . From a self taught car guy thank you.
Jake has been a god send for me as a new 135i owner this year. If I know I can't do the mod or repair I still watch the video he made to know the process before I go to a mechanic. He's got vids on everything!
this was one of the best videos y’all have ever made. i’ll be buying a BMW 335d soon (don’t worry, we’re going to walnut blast it and delete the EGR immediately 😂) and i’m really excited for that.
I have been eying that m57 too but i just have to have a manual of i switch cars and its not available in a manual and i cant afford a manual swap, awesome engine though
335d’s have a large carbon build-up issue in their engines. because of that it can trigger trigger the engine light and eventually blow up the engine if not tended to, but thankfully it’s now a simple problem to fix. u can take it to a german repair shop and usually theyll walnut blast the engine which just cleans the carbon off, and then you can delete the EGR system so it won’t happen again. only downside is that with an EGR delete emissions inspections can be dicey, but in some states emissions inspections on diesel cars aren’t required because of the amount of diesel trucks passing through. (i’m in one of those states)
Thank you for the vid. Really spoke to me as I myself am in the same situation where nobody really understands me, and when I get so excited about something like a S2000 or a GT-R, nobody really understands why, an I look like a crazy person in their eyes.

I appreciate whole heartedly your advice to not look at bmws as a financial investment lol thank you 🙏🏼 . Awesome car and video! The shots were well executed. You can fix the hard skips between each frame by shooting the same fps that the sequence is. That or the shutter speed is too fast, that could also be causing the headlight pulsing/flashing.

As long as you have fun with it that's all
Tips for your mazda:
-watch for rust (clean and protect often)
-lots of ford parts on first gen with weird design choices.
-if you have a 2.3l, keep oil in it and change regularly. 2.3l MZR’s can be finicky.
-corksport has never failed me
-JBR has never failed me.
-if you havent modded anything: change motor mounts and rear sway bar end links. Both easy to do and necessary, as those go bad quick on first and second gen mazda 3’s.
-join Mazda3revolution on fb, and Mazda 3 Owners Club.
Check the subframe bro!!!!

I wish I would've gotten the GS300. I have a GS430 and there's practically nothing you can do to this engine
Could you document it somewhere?
Im planning on building an IS300
Respect man you built the frick out of that 1 series. 750 in a car that small! That's borderline whiplash right there!
Thanks man, it’s been a wild ride 🤪
He didn’t even need to build it it can get up to 850+ on stock internals
Julius H. Not true at all. Forged internals from factory, can easily handle 700. 800+ is where you’re pushing it. (I own one)
Julius H. Ah I see, sucks for you guys. That catless smell an sound is amazing
Nick S 2007 models were the only ones with forged cranks. A stock n54 is not handling 800+
2:47......it sounds......beautiful
Damn Jake, I’m getting sold on that bumper, all black and with those headlights... probably the prettiest non M e82 I’ve seen!
Thanks man! I appreciate that. It's grown on me as well Lol.
1m front bumper w hex halos
Best E82 I’ve seen that isn’t an M car. Awesome car and even better story.
🙏🏼
Never thought seeing Jake on here. Always liked his videos, a great addition to the Team. Greeting from a fellow N54 owner :)
