Great work Diane, you are very courageous and I admire you for your actions. I am Nahua and I can relate with you even though we are so far apart. La lucha sigue.

Well said. I agree that education is the only path to help a community to grow. Mandatory course about indigenous culture is already part of the education system now.

Thanks Diana for speaking out for your people. Only got to know about the plight of Canada's indigenous people a week ago after Al Jazeera aired a documentary about it. I must say I have been horrified and deeply traumatised watching the children snatched away from their families and this going on for decades? What a tragedy.
Continue to stand strong and regain your rich heritage!

It went on for generations. My mother and grandmother went to residential schools, and I was taken from my mother for assimilation into white foster homes. When you go further south, there more generations stolen from their families.

Thank you Diane. I feel as if there is a huge chunk of Native history that has been redacted and hidden from all of us. That by imposing our version of Canadian history over Native culture and history we are all worse off. Western culture has been very efficient at silencing the Other. Here's to you and your valiant effort to break free of Western colonization.

Are you related to Cornelius Hill/Onangwatgo? He was the last hereditary chief of the Oneida tribe in Wisconsin. I'm also Bear Clan! He is was great great great uncle.

We are forgotten. There are some Natives that make their living studying themselves like you and there are others who want to be free of the Canadian government. True sovereignty is the only way we will receive respect and be safe. We need a country in our homeland more than anything. We will NEVER be allowed to fully rebuild and help all of our brothers and sisters. I see gangsters and drug addicts in my city and nobody helps, they are bitter and violent or have just given up. Rise up or slowly rot away within this land which is given to immigrants freely and stolen from us.
