That used to be common. I'm only 36. I was 7 or 8 when I started steering from my dad's lap. I was 9 or 10 when I learned to drive a manual truck.it was just a small Mazda. The people at the gas station sold us a cigar when we took the truck one time. We didn't even smoke it. Just wanted to see if they'd sell it to us

Children's services got involved because of the video. It is not surprising kids sit infront of a screen and develop no social or practical skills these days

Not enough, even then to shoot at someone over, but it still happens now, over less. Hell, I got stabbed over $10 once, back then. Still have the tip of the knife, that stuck in a rib and snapped off, in a cigar box. Told the guy to keep the money, after beating the everlovin shit out of him. Figured he needed it more at that point.
@@Cal94 on a modern vehicle you'd probably need to mess with the computer. Not saying old cars were so much better back then, but it was simpler for sure, and thus easier to do self repairs and, ahem, modifications.
Believe it was one of Smokey Yunick’s tricks, have an on / off switch for the brake lights so anyone trying to out brake you slides off the track. Also good fun to have the brake lights on while you’re actually accelerating away...
Just be careful to remember that after you come back to it after being stationed overseas for 6 months. I got pulled over for no tail lights as a result. Had completely forgot about them being on their own switch. That led to no insurance ticket because I had just flown in on a Friday night and was jazzed to see some friends. No insurance led to impound and a $2,000 fine to get it out. Thankfully I kind of knew someone with some power and he got it down to $500. Expensive trick! 😄
@@andmicbro1 nope just 2 switches. On running to your lights the other to the tail lights. Flick switch break circuit lights die out. Seen a 2017 mustang done up like that for like 20 buck. What ever 2 lengths of 10 foot wire and 2 switches from princess auto

Thee absolute Best. Beside what is happening in the story, it's how he describes particular details that add an element to his stories. Really allows you to be there in the moment. When you go through ordeals like this, through all the commotion and excitement certain little details seem to stick with you for no apparent reason but when you see, or hear them, it brings it all right back.
Finally,a story I believe. We used to do all these tricks when he hid from cops. We called it 'The TD' switch for Total Dark. Killed interior, brake, dash, and headlights.
