You are actually an inspiration to a lot of people, including me, so I have no words to describe how great you are. Always keep going. I have the opposite issue, I need to decide between physics, maths, further maths, geography, psychology, English lit+lang (one course in my school), French, and chemistry. But I love all of them, and all but one are facilitating subjects. I’d like to go into physics, so physics, maths and probably further maths are pretty much decided for me, though I really don’t want to suddenly stop all the others, because again, I love all of them, and I think I am probably someone who could manage a fourth a-level, but I don’t know which to choose.

    • @SmileWithSola
      @SmileWithSola  Год назад +4

      I think look at the curriculum for these subjects to see whether the topics themselves interest you, and if you know anyone taking these subjects for A Level then ask for their opinion! Physics & Maths definitely sound like good options, but for the third and forth A Levels make sure they're something you truly enjoy and will find semi-easy. A Levels does get overwhelming and you will want a subject where you can kinda 'relax' in a sense

    Hello Sola. I am revising for my gcses but every time i revise I would get bored very easily which demotivates me from revising, especially subjects that I don't enjoy. Could you please make a video on how to make revision enjoyable and good. Also subjects that I'm not strong in is very time consuming for me to revise so could you maybe give tips on how to thoroughly revise on hard topics without spending your whole day on it! So far your revision tips have helped me so thank you very much :)

      I had the same problem. What I started doing is 10-15 minutes an hour or as much as u feel comfortable doing, then for the rest of the hour relax or do something you enjoy. If you do this for say 4-5 hours when you get back from school or 6-7 hours on a weekend, you can get over an hour of revision in without it feeling like too much!

    Would you recommend doing 4 a level seubjects. The subjects I want to pick can sort of be split into 2 science subjects (bio and chem) and 2 subjects that can guarantee me going into game development (computer science and graphics). The reason I'm asking this is because the 2 things I'm really interested in and would like to maybe pursue as a career are working with plants and using them to create new drugs and medicines, and art and game development. So, I'm really not sure of I'll be able to handle 4 subjects, and if not I don't know which one to drop since they would help me get onto both paths.

      Honestly, 4 a levels is going to be a large workload, I even found it hard to handle the 3. Obviously, it depends on the person, you could do 4 for year 12 then drop one later if it gets too much. Regarding dropping one now, choose the one you enjoy the most to keep. If this is for uni then you can just do the required subjects and you'll be fine, they'll teach you everything in uni again. Best of luck!

      I think pick at least one facilitating subject so History / English Lit so that allows you to have more options. Then pick the subjects you could see yourself doing well in. Some degrees don't require any subjects in particular but instead require a specific result e.g. AAB. So definitely try to do History and/or English Lit and then do subjects you enjoy / would get a good grade in. Also, should I consider a 5th subject? If yes, then I want to try studying Law. What do you think?

      absolutely setting yourself up for failure doing 5 a levels, it’s completely unnecessary and the only thing that will happen is you will get a lower grade in your other subjects. Even if you get A*s in all the subjects it doesn’t really matter as universities only consider 3 subjects

      I think do the subjects which you can envision yourself working a job for. Do one subject that you genuinely enjoy and do one or two subjects which are required for you to get into the pathway e.g. uni or apprenticeship you want to go into.

    I don’t know what to pick between health and social (i already do it at gcse), psychology, geography (i also do at gcse) sociology, religious studies or biology. The only one i’m sure on is sociology but I don’t know what to pick for my other ones. I want something quite broad as i’m not sure what i want to do in the future maybe something in health but not medicine. Something to do with social stuff? I really don’t know. I enjoy religious studies at gcse i’m not a huge fan of physical geography but i know human and physical is 50/50. I was thinking h&s, sociology and RS but will it be too much essay writing?
    I find h&s easy but quite repetitive but may be useful in future as all my family work in nhs workplaces and h&s is always needed and i am quite interested in it.

    • @SmileWithSola

      If you genuinely enjoy it then go for it! However, I would say that 4 A levels is quite a big workload, and it isn't required for any medical school. It's much better if you get 3 amazing grades rather than struggling to juggle getting 4. Overall, it depends on you and how you feel about it!

      as you’re doing bio + chem i assume you want to go into medicine. therefore, you do NOT need further maths, and i think you should take french. it could make you stand out and MFLs can actually be very useful.
