My wife has loved the XV from the very first time she saw it. I love Subaru's all wheel drive. But I gotta say, the hybrid aspect of this vehicle is quite underwhelming. Still...if I'm not too broke, I probably would buy her one.
I'm pretty sure the vent is an intake for a fan which cools the battery. The Prius and RAV4 hybrid have a similar air cooling system for their batteries
I'm pretty sure if Subaru got rid of those CVTs their sales would go up🤔 Or do people not really care? These cars get terrible fuel economy for what they are😬
Hold up, this is the 2020 model. Also, the 2021 model comes in two versions the L (mid range feature equivalent to the midrange petrol version), and the S model which has the luxury features you were having a cry about. I am not sure, but i think it has the curb (side view) monitor too................. So I repeat, you have reviewed the 2020 model.
I have the 2023 Crosstrek Limited PHEV and it is fantastic! I can run EV for all of my city driving and the Atkinson's cycle 2L Boxer gives me great gas mileage on my 500+km highway trip I must do each week. The space in the boot is sufficient for my luggage, camera gear, and tools. Snowboards, bikes, and kayaks fit nicely on the roof. It is fantastic in heavy snow, heavy winds, off-road and in the mountains. It fits everything that I need :)
Unfortunately, Subaru didn't make a serious attempt at making a hybrid. They just wanted to jump onto the hype of the Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid. There are not significant savings in fuel economy, there is an unreasonable increase in price and not having a spare tyre in an offroader is unacceptable. The standard base model XV and Forester are both excellent cars, the hybrids are an embarrassment. Thanks Jenny, your honest reviews are very helpful as they cover everything the regular driver wants to know.
The hybrid is for the ever stricter emission regulations - EU first and foremost - and massive fines if manufacturers don't meet a certain CO2 emission average across ALL their products (nice move against smaller brands as they get shafted because of this). Be glad that you Aussies get to have a vast array of subies to choose from, here in Europe we only get this E-boxer for all models (Impreza, XV, Forester) except the Outback.
@@BB-wz6bx our eBoxer is just for the XV and Forester as far as I know. I understand the reasoning behind its introduction now, thanks @BB 61, I hadn't considered emission restrictions as we don't have those in Australia.
Compared to the Hybrid model we get here in the US, there’s some noticeable differences. The trunk space is reduced due to the battery in the trunk & of course we don’t get a spare tire. The Hybrid model here is typically based on the Limited trim, which is top of the line with leather seating, 8 inch infotainment system, led steering responsive headlights, etc. It’s called the XV there, but here just the Crosstrek. Side note: if your reviewing cars for prospective buyers to see, at least do your research to know what a button or feature does!
The vent in the back is an air intake for the hybrid battery. You can find the same thing on a Prius.
Same thing on Honda hybrid as well. On Honda, it is actually an exhaust which make inside warm as hell on an already warm day
7:20 the vent is for heat dissipation for the hybrid batteries, not for passengers. It's quite common in hybrid vehicles.
And i've been waiting on Jenny to come to the party.. 🤩🤩

That vent is for battery cooling. They have one for RAV4 as well.
Would be much appreciated if 2.5L engine available in Australia for Subaru XV
I do want a small city suv with basic off road abilities - and the XV is really the only choice, but certainly not the hybrid
The trim level is meh for a hybrid version. I've got the 2.0i-S and I like that trim much better and I've got a spare.
Time for Jenny!!!
I was looking at buying XV Hybrid but not any more very poor fuel economy.
What a beauty, and yes the car is ok too
55 miss calls ??? 😯 😮
Yeahhh... Jenny time
It's weird that they call it just the "XV" there since they dropped that from the US name
Cute.
You mean the 2020 model...
A good SUV let down by a single base model inside fit out.
Oh then driving glasses, Jenny didn't have then while reviewing the Isuzu
It's a 2.5 L now for Prem.

yay, favorite reviewer, greetings from East Berlin, err, Melbourne!!
2 batteries in the engine bay?
You Watching Cartell TV and i'm Jenny

Greetings from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA Great reviews the XV is called the crosstrek in north America
Disappointing Hybrid from Subaru ....

It's a shit car for the price.

this mild hybrid is nothing interesting, US crosstreck is much much much more interesting real PHEV
Jenny is very well spoken and has a very cute personality! 🙂
Gas, diesel, or electric vehicles are acceptable.
Hybrid vehicles are a service nightmare, and money pit.
Thanks Jenny! We like the Crosstrek here in the US...
good moves, here's your "like"
You have amazing body JNY.
Coffee spilled at 0:46
Subaru is at risk of losing its way.
Hi Jenny🙋
I think this is actually the 2020 XV, 2021 XV is not out yet....

I seriously doubt if they are qualified to do car reviews without knowing what the vent is for...
