From living in the desert to a tropical rainforest with a river in the backyard, must seem so surreal. Would love to live somewhere tropical someday, so I'm very much looking forward to all the vlogs of you guys building your new homestead.

Those bananas should be ready within the next couple of weeks after you get that plant off. We chop ours off (they are referred to as “hands”) while they’re still green and let them sit outside for a couple of days and wait till they turn yellow. They are so sweet and delicious!
The house and yard you see her in is a rental. They have a landlord. They have purchased land and soon you'll start seeing Derrick building a new home on their new land. Once their house is built they'll move into it

The bananas can be cut and cooked green or you can wait until the turn a bit yellow. They may also be plantains, I'm not sure. Either way. The tree itself should be cut down every 2 to 3 years and it will sprout up from the bottom with a new set of banana trees. This will ensure that they remain productive. And I highly recommend planting the smaller square shaped plantains on your property, if you don't have them already!
Ive stopped labeling my seedlings, and instead what I do is write what’s in the pot with a sharpie. When the plant is put in the ground, I scribble/scratch it off to reuse the pot. Much easier than trying to remember what was in the pot when the label blows off or the plant marker gets pulled out.

It’s absolutely gorgeous there. You should try buying popsicle sticks to label your plants. Maybe that would help.
