Hi, recently started watching your channel - enjoying the disco content, along with the delivery. The roly-poly ride reminds me of a Land Cruiser I test drove about 10 years ago .... was like stepping back in time into a Range Rover classic. Keep the vids coming - I'm a late L320 owner, so would like to see you get your hands on one of them!
I had this done to my car earlier this year. Best thing I ever did, although i got the Atlantic British OME coilovers. This did lift my LR3 up by 2 inches, but at least i know i can get through anything now 😆
I've been waiting for this video as this is a job I'm going to do. I'd rather spend the money on coils and do the job once rather than constantly spending money fighting and fixing a 18 year old 190000 mile air suspension. Thank you.
That was a fair video, a lot of people never show anything going wrong or “not to plan” so well don’t for an honest and down to earth presentation. I had to replace my compressor dryer unit today, took me less than an hour but to be honest iv done that before and all the fittings were stainless and I’d notched the top bolt hole on the cradle so the evil top bolt can be left in and the cradle slid out. As I tow and also carry the occasional old relative, air suspension is great.
I had d3 swapped to springs abit of advice back end lowered over time so didn’t sit level I ended up get 2inch spacers added on top of strut to level back up sat slightly higher but looked better there’s a company that’s makes them locally to me think was about 120 delivered give or take few quid
What a shame. I understand why people believe coils are better than the air but as they say in this video it's not as nice. The air is a simple system to maintain and not expensive if looked after properly.
Fair play to you for risking the wrath of the fanbase - perhaps if you've never experienced the air suspension, you might not be quite so horrified by the coils ? Shame about having to rework your efforts to put the rear spacers in.
Think that was a mistake! What was wrong with the air suspension?? They are so easy to diagnose and repair! You have air pipes, valves, compressor, air tank, airbags and module! 😊
Great video. Shame about the initial result. I understand the need for a spacer to increase the pre load, but wonder if the spring rate is a true match. Look forward to the next episode.
I recon you are a Hero doing this! It all looks very knuckle bashing and filthy, but you got there in the end, is this kit available for the L322 Range Rover? Chris B.
Ive had 4x4 with air suspension, while it was great on the road when you put it into the offroad settings it raised the car up for more clearance but then left me with pretty much rock hard suspension. So i wonder if the coil swap would make the discos off road ability better.

Had a poverty spec D3 with 6 speed manual 'box & coil spring suspension, it worked well for me, did well off road.
Fair play for your honest opinion on the springs after wrestling with them..
Repair the air suspension. One of the things I like most.
Excellent video...well done.

Sacrilege: you have removed the party piece of the discovery……

The ride looked terrible after you had fitted the spring suspension..

I had a 2002 Discovery 2 which was basic and just had coil springs. Had no problems with it. Now have a RR Sport and having with ACE system leaks
I think you have just removed one of its best features.

Any chance to use that compressor to fill up the wheels?
