Still halfway thru the video but I can say this is the most precise and concise video I've seen explaining such fundamentals. Thank you very much kind sir. Finally understood these things.
Just found your channel and a few of your videos have helped me with a few issues with my laser and your clear wording and videos gave me the knowledge and confidence to fix my problems, thank you very much!
I must say, I have watched several videos on this topic. I never could grasp how it worked. I always used current position because I couldn't remember how to use the others after a little time went by without using the laser. It would never stick in my head. After watching you video it finally made sense, finally I get it. I finally understand how it works as apposed to just trying to remember the steps. You explained it very well. Thank you.
I was stuck on how to position the laser. Great video, thanks. I will be doing a lot of name plates for trophies. Usually on a 12x12 piece of material. What to you suggest the best Start from: position would be for this application?
Thank you so much. It was so useful for me. Here i need your help more than every time. Sometimes while engraving my laser head jumps to another point and counties from there, (few millimetrs on X and some times on Y). So this sudden jump will destroy all my jobs, specifically when I am working on Granite. It happens in my both new machines, all parts are fixed well, the belts are ok, I am only thinking to obtain a current stabililizer to complelet the machine. This issue is really annoying one and really need help. I also apreciate every ones' comment. So sorry to take your time.
Yeaa... Maybe consider fixing that Drag Chain that keeps getting caught on the inside of the Top/Lid? The Moving End at the Tool Head isn't supposed to be able to make a つ like bend yours does it should be ⸧ ( both Straights parallel to each other with a uniform Bend ) which is USUALLY achieved by installing and Endpiece that only allows for the Chain to curl inwards ( essentially like all the other links ) unlike yours which seems to allow for an outward movement - The latter of which can be fixed adding a something like a Popsicle Wood in there to block the upwards movement between the Endpiece and the first Link following it. Concerning the Machine vs. Job Origin thing I'd like to explain it as a Contractor with a Map of your Town and a Floor Plan of your House... The Map of your Town will tell him where to start getting into it ( Machone Origin ) and how from there to get to your House. Once at the Door of your House ( Job Origin ) he'll whip out the Floor Plan. Which Door of the House he uses would then be the equivalent of a Start Position 🤔
Very helpful - Thanks. I've made a template that I want to use for customizing a product. If I put the product in the template and use registration marks that I have on the template to set user origin, then I should be able to engrave/personalize the product using the template?
When placing my material on the laser bed and using the current position, how do I know the place I put the material matches the position on the screen? Do I need to burn a spoil board with markings for positioning my material in relations to lightburn position? I'm probably not making sense. 😊
I am lookin for a camera to install. I have the same machine as this one which looks good to me., Can you post the ordering info? thx. Great video btw, now it seems so simple.
excellent video, regarding the current position or user origin, how do you set your material squared so it engraves straight parallel to the material ?
Is there a way to set the finish position of the laser head. Mine moves to the front which is kind of annoying because I have to move mine every time a job is done.
Your videos have helped me more than once! I have almost the same machine but in a 80w and I can’t find anything on why I have to flip my design in light burn backwards to cut out correct on the machine, any ideas?
very clear description. but why on earth would you use the top meaning a high chance of errors by making the logic opposite to the work area its like using a difficult imperial system when metric is far simpler as shown by US money
One the OMTech Polar tho the laser doesn't start at 0,0. Starts about 30x8 since its got that big box around it. Which sucks cuz you waste material. So I put a 25x25mm box that the right corner starts at 200x10 on the honeycomb..But when I go to laser it its at starts the box at 230x20. Any idea on how I get that distance offset to match up the LB grid on the screen and the laser ?
This was a greay video... please help me! I'm new to the omtech fam. And not sure why I mybprojects arw being mirrored. For some reason when I change the origin it tells me I'm out origin area🤦♀️
Do you have any possible help on finding the correct power and speed settings for Plastic Rowmark material? My speed/ power setting are either burning /melting it or if I spped it up and use less power, it barely marks it and doesn't remove material. Same with cutting this material. It seems to be melting it OR not cutting all the way through. Any help with this would be so greatly appreciated! I have a 100 watt Omtech 20" x 28"
Hi,i have a different "problem". Sometimes when i hit the start button it says "cut may be out of bounds". I have no clue what that means. I've looked on forums and on YT,but can't find anything on this matter. Maybe you can help me. Will be much appreciated. ( i'm using lightburn too).
It means that your job is going to cause the laser head to hit the sides of the machine. You are either not using the start positions correctly because it is placing the design too close to the edge of the workspace or you have stray objects on your workspace that need to be deleted. Use this video and test out the different start positions.
There are glitches to that story. You should explain that too. For instance, If you have layers off the grid (whether they are visible or inactive) and you do not have cut selected graphics and use selection origin turned on, your homing will not work. Job origin has no effect on anything in this case and I totally feel it is a glitch that Lightburn needs to fix. It could cost hours to figure out why your job origin is not working. In my opinion the placement of job origin should take precedence and focus instead of job pieces.
@@BeardedBuildsCo I mean when I finish design the head not going to origin position and when I press Esc button even then head not going to origin position then I press fram button after making frame finally head stop on origin position

Best explanation of Origins on RUclips in my opinion. Thanks for making it so clear.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
I just bought the new XTOOL S1 and stumbled across your video while learning lightburn. This was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you. 👍🏽
Thanks for making this so clear and easy to understand. The addition of visuals is extremely helpful.
Very helpful! Coming from a diode machine with no homing switches, this was confusing to me. You made it crystal clear.

the program does not allow me to use the origin feature, no matter what version
if I feel like I have done this set up correctly, why is it when I send a file to ruida, the image is mirrored?

My question is why would I use the different setting in Lightburn?
Preference and what you are trying to accomplish.

It is likely going to the origin that you set. If you want it somewhere else, move the head there and press the origin button.
