I never would have guessed Jeannie was 37. The way she looks, I thought she was much younger. Gorgeous. That being said, if you're not absolutely sure about having kids, don't do it. Kids are a blessing and can be the best thing that has ever happened to you, except when you really aren't sure and you had them out of pressure (from your spouse, from society, from parents, whomever). It has to be the right choice for you and there is no right or wrong if you choose to or not to.

my mom had her first child at 36 and me at 38 and what she could provide at that age was stability and a strong marriage she had happy and healthy kids was very involved and God gave her the strength and energy.

There is public pressure, pressure from friends, and family even if it is subconscious. Every time she has a thought of having kids everyone jumps for joy and flips out like she is finally seeing the light. No one really accepts her decision truly even though they pretend they do and that affects you when you are constantly surrounded by it. I think she will eventually give in, and say she just changed her mind when in reality she never really felt accepted with her decision and it feels good to join the crowd.
It sounds to me like Jeannie should adopt rather than have one of her own, if it took her this long to just decide she wanted to freeze her eggs, I honestly don't believe she will want to have one of her own down the line because of the different negative side effects being pregnant brings (constant vomiting, weird cravings, etc). I am an adopted child and I love both of my parents for giving me this chance to have a great life when my biological parents couldn't (they weren't bad parents, they just couldn't give me the life they had hoped). I could be wrong about this, but I feel that if Jeannie is 37 years old and she still isn't ready to be pregnant, she would much be much better off adopting a child than giving birth to one.

@@tinamarie2484 I agree, although I believe Jeannie will change her mind eventually. She is constantly surrounded by people who are pushing her to have kids. There is public pressure, pressure from friends, and family even if it is subconscious. Every time she has a thought of having kids everyone jumps for joy and flips out like she is finally seeing the light. No one really accepts her decision truly even though they pretend they do and that affects you when you are constantly surrounded by it. I think she will eventually give in, and say she just changed her mind when in reality she never really felt accepted with her decision and it feels good to join the crowd.

It sounds to me like Jeannie should adopt rather than have one of her own, if it took her this long to just decide she wanted to freeze her eggs, I honestly don't believe she will want to have one of her own down the line because of the different negative side effects being pregnant brings (constant vomiting, weird cravings, etc). I am an adopted child and I love both of my parents for giving me this chance to have a great life when my biological parents couldn't (they weren't bad parents, they just couldn't give me the life they had hoped). I could be wrong about this, but I feel that if Jeannie is 37 years old and she still isn't ready to be pregnant, she would much be much better off adopting a child than giving birth to one.

She will be fine giving birth. Everyone is different and she seems to be a very healthy 37. I've seen older women give birth. Nothing wrong with adoption but of course most wanna have their own DNA as first choice.

That man is amazing and treats Jeannie like a queen. She did the right thing. Now they married and having a baby. So happy for Jeannie. How things turned out for her the right way. Jeannie, we are all here for you! Sometimes we think we won't have time for something such as having kids, because we think we can only spare time on ourselves. Having a kid is a HUGE blessing and the biggest sacrifice a person can do for someone. Sometimes we need love in terms of loving someone unconditionally and knowing you would do anything for your kids. Sometimes partners,parents,sibilings,friends come & go, but your kids will always be your kids. Love you Jeannie and God bless you and Freddy!

Jeannie sweety if you are so unsure. Don't do it b/c all others views. It takes a lot of sacrifice caring for another life you are responsible for. Once you have a child it is not only about you anymore. A child should not come into this world w a parent not fully giving them their time. It seems you are unsure you want to do that for them, which is defiantly okay. It's better to feel that way now, then bring them in the world and feel the same. It's mothers out here who didn't think like you and had kids, and neglected or abandoned them. Your husband will not only want a child to call his own, but also the mother showing that interaction and not only in the public eye. I commend you for the honesty of the reasons for not wanting kids, and overly thinking about bringing them into this world. Raising a child is the biggest test in life you will ever experience besides your marriage. I pray you and your husband well.

Good for Jeannie for getting all the information and signing up for counseling, trying babysitting dates and being smart and really thinking things through in depth.- I respect that. So many people become moms /dads before thinking ahead of the gravity of such a decision will have on their lives. With so much societal pressure for women to have kids I applaud her for taking her time. Kids are one thing PARENTING is something else so you better be sure it's what you want and not do it to appease anyone else.

Awww this was sooo heartfelt and REAL. Jeannie and Freddy have such a strong relationship given how she speaks on things regarding him and their marriage. If the will of God is children it will happen. She is blessed to be surrounded by supportive friends that have her in mind. In addition to her Mom and Freddy. I know all of them will bring some experiences to the table. This clip makes me happy. You are never to old. I had my first at 37 and am pregnant now nothing is impossible.
