Criminals will always be easy to catch. When there are people whom they think they can outsmart the investigation officers.

If you ask me for sentences (here's what I have from TV):
- Tan Jia Le was convicted offences under the Computer Misuse Act and sentenced to 5 months imprisonment
- Daryl Chua Wee Siang was convicted offences of assisting another to retain benefits from criminal conduct and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment
- Henry Cher Wei Han was convicted offences of assisting another to retain benefits from criminal conduct and sentenced to 14 months imprisonment

Still can't understand why people still fall for these scams that sounds so sweet. The red flags are obvious. Wouldn't one try to contact the company to make sure the offer is real before falling for the trap?
What’s obvious for you isn’t obvious for someone else. Especially in the elderly who are not as tech savvy

Because sad thing is companies in SG does do things a lot like how scammers does it. Homeowners nowadays are already very tired and brain-dead from work, not to say when a marketing promo comes like from every other company, the kiasu instinct will be to FASTER OFFER IS ENDING NEED TO GRAB IT! (sounds like lazada and shopee eh?)
lets say a legit company launches a promo that gives freebies with user actions required (like how insurance agents say free goodies just need to sit down chat awhile), but due to marketing or tech department screw up the app is not yet ready on app stores. but due to reasons that everyone are so familiar with boss say must roll out campaign means must roll out mah.
so bo bian everyone need to convince their potential customers to sideload apps to enjoy the promo lor.
the anti scam tagline is if it seems too good to be true, it is probably a scam. but if say the "legit company" offer is marginally believable like sign up for membership through app for 80 bucks off the soon-to-have-new-generation "D" brand stick vacuum cleaner, most homeowners will not bat an eyelid.

The last reported case for the malware theft was around on 17 October, 10 months before this episode was aired

This is due to rehabilitation reasons, so that those past offenders can enable for second chance especially under Yellow Ribbon Project.

In my country, every ATM must have special cctv camera which scan who is using the atm, because bank cards here are registered with identity card, and camera use facial recognition

Use separate banking & public phones. Open a few separate bank accounts
agreed, don’t put all your money in one place! not completely relevant, but i recall a couple of years back when the DBS apps couldn’t be used for payment. a lot of people were stumped because that was the only bank account they had. always have backups, that’s my opinion.

In order for discourage money mules from helping the mastermind withdraw and transfer money, Singapore's laws need to impose stiffer penalties (like 10 years in prison plus rotan, instead of 1 year) so that they will think twice before becoming a money mule. They would be thinking why not, after 1 year, they are a free man again.
Eh the malay guy is the one on Tiktok with the dance class & the chinese guy formerly hosted the Singapore Food international on youtube years back.
