When Dimash premiered this song at his concert he gave a speech prior to singing the song. I think that speech is important and gives context to the song and story:
"Many thanks dear friends, before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much.
We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents.
And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation.
I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next.
But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true.
We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children,
we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children.
They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities.
I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago.
Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world.
It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart.
To tell you truth, many thanks to god and with your wishes I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours.
One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality!
I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here...
Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war.
Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer!
Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault.
The truth of the matter is, no nordinary person is guilty of starting a war!
That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky".

These are my views on this amazing masterpiece The Story of One Sky - I have watched this many times and still find things out that i never thought of amazing video and i have said it before if anyone could bring peace i strongly believe Dimash could make it possible. This needs to be shared worldwide to show people there is another way. War is never the answer because the only ones to suffer are the innocent. Rewatched the song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY, GREED and POWER.
The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash's family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end!!! The Dimash at the end can also be seen as Dimash in the afterlife leading others to the light in peace. This video needs to be shown worldwide. Something else i noticed is in his dying breath he sang (We're Choosing Life) as he finally passed away now that is powerful

Dear Tara, thank you for a wonderful reaction. Do yourself a favor and watch the live version of this song, as performed in Almaty 2 weeks ago… pure vocals and pure emotion.
A little explanation which might help understand; the pilgrims represent all the faiths, Muslim Koran, Christian cross, Jewish shofar etc, all walking towards a same goal. At the end of the OMs (after Arabic vocalisation), Dimash says something in Kazak that means “We are all pilgrims on the same road”. The softness of his voice during the battles describes an agony that he feels inside about all this violence. Yes, he married that girl on the beach, and has a daughter by her, who is killed by the troops of the one who used to be his friend. But she is pregnant and hidden away by other people while she is giving birth to his son, who will be a peaceful leader. A little tricky to understand all this the first time, but the more you watch, the more details you will get. And that voice!!! This complicated composition with a variety of music themes and tricks is a result of three years of compositional work of Dimash Qudaibergen.
Today, at the Kazakh artist’s fan meeting with his fans, the audience saw the MV to this work for the first time. The film is based on a story written by Dimash, with his own screenplay.
The director Alina Veripa told about the creation of the music video for the new song.
The clip is divided into several parts. The first one is about childhood. The main character, his 2 friends are connected by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the Protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in this children’s story, as the boys are in love with one girl, and she chooses one. The second experiences a kind of psychological breakdown and transfers the children’s problems into the adult world of totalitarianism and struggle.
By becoming president, the Antagonist carries the idea of a saving war:
“Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give the world freedom. A world where every city, every home is one. We will lead all who are ready to begin this new life. Anyone who resists has no place with us. I choose freedom. The world is open before me, and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.”
The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love.
While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge.
However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace.
A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together.
This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children.

I think Dimash has been heartbroken by what is going on between Russia and Ukraine. He’s got strong bonds with the two countries. And he believes it’s his responsibility (as a global artist) to make people aware about the devastation of wars. He did the same thing with the song “war and peace “. Like Michael Jackson in his time, Dimash wants to use his art to serve a good cause.

In the beginning the kid drowning was Dimash. The other boy saved him. But they fell in love with the same girl. Girl refused the boy who saved Dimash. Little Dimash there found a necklace to give him but he didn’t want to take it but gave him anyway. Then he put same necklace to the girl on the boat.
When they grew up, the hatred and jealousy got bigger on that boy who became the commander. He destroyed all Dimash’s family in a war including her little daughter. When they tried to escape the girl left behind with a teddy bear on her hands.
But his wife was also pregnant at that time as well. The people who believed in that kid she is going to give a birth put her in a secure place to give birth to the son of Dimash as well. They have faith in that newborn. They were praying during the birth.
Then Dimash realised that his daughter died, he wanted to get revenge. He killed the commander and the commander’s army killed him too.
Then the boy was drowning in the beginning was drowning again. But saying we are choosing life in spite of couple of the crazy commander who make wrong decisions and make people die. Instead we are choosing follow the light and turn from wrong to right. Because we all believe in the same God we are all God’s children and we live under one sky.
All vocal things he did in dessert scenes was about all the religions and their praying related. He included all Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism.
He believes that no one in the world have no problem with each other. There are no bad nations, no bad religions, there is no holy book in the world advices to do bad things. Some crazy people do this only.
At the end the son of Dimash grown up but his wife died while giving a birth. And young man looks like Dimash leads the people to the light to the right way.
No hatred, no revenge, no repeating the mistakes of previous generations. Only peace and acceptance of all people no matter what nation or religion they belong to.
My personal opinion to make such a movie like that requires too much knowledge, wisdom, maturity and Dimash has it all. I don’t even wanna mention musicality here because he has doesn’t have to proof his musical ability or voice to us. He is making a statement here. He shows something. He teaches us something. And he says we need to learn from children they just purely love with no expectation.

I so agree with you. Impossible to watch award shows now because the content is just meaningless and vulgar. Dimash has never been either of those things. Dimash Qudaibergen’s 12-minute work is dedicated to the unity of people on our planet. My opinion: The whole song is an outcry. My heart aches because of the wars and misery in this world. The greed, envy and intolerance of men will wipe them off the face of the earth if they do not come to their senses. Children and women are targeted victims of annihilation and rape in wars. But they are not just victims or mothers. They are half of humanity. Where are they? Why don't the women climb the mountain side by side with the men and head towards the sunrise and a better future? I only see men running mercilessly past a collapsed comrade-in-arms. Nobody helps him. What future can such a humanity await? Will anything ever change?
* Pope Francis awarded a commemorative medal to Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen during the Pope's visit to the Seventh Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions September 14-15, 2022 in Nur-Sultan. On September 13, 2022, Dimash performed his new song 'The Story of One Sky' at the Unity and Diversity concert held for convention attendees.
The words at the end of the video are from the "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb, on February 4, 2019. Thanks for your reaction! This is a tricky video because there is so much to take in at once. It's hard to know where to focus! I watched it 3 times and still didn't understand it so I got some help from the other Dears.There is some good info out there. So much symbolism that I didn't notice. Yes! I also love that Dimash takes the time to write music that is both beautiful and meaningful. He worked on this music and video for three years! He is very passionate about people living together peacefully!

This time he went beyond perfection, his voice and his performance in this devastating story are both heartbreaking and liberating. I wrote this on his video only a few minutes after it was released:
