@tekno58 Just so you know, the first combo is probably one of the hardest ways of linking the rekkas together. We will be putting out a video soon and I'm going to explain the combos, slow them down etc. The trick to learning the first one though is practicing the qcf.H qcb.H qcf.H over and over. The first link is easy, but linking the second and third you have to delay it ever so slightly to just after the second kick hits, hope that helps!
@Suavol Haha your more than welcome! Thats the whole reason for sharing these, to give others a starting block when trying to figure out just what the hell you do once you finally get that s.M or s.H lol. I'm just putting together the second part to this video now where I break it down and give some commentary so do keep an eye on the channel over the next week. We will also have a Jam Session and you will see the FIST in action!
It's amazing how his damage is takes about 800k ~ 900k alone, but is still consider a low teir character ): wish they could put more moves into him like a dodge roll from frank west.
@HervProm3theus Great. I'll be looking forward to that then. I noticed that you usually go for immediate qcf+M when you hit with sM, sH. Do you think it's best that way? Scaling kills hits his damage pretty hard in the end, so it shouldn't make much of a difference. MY usual B&B for him is M, H, qcf+L, qcb+L, qcf+M; DP+L; M, H, b+H, qcf+L, qcf+H, qcf+S; (after they bounce off the wall) qcb+M, qcf+H, Fists of Fury. That particular one I use ONLY if I want to use only one bar as it's away ...
most are mainly corner combs yes, although as a tactic you can normally hit them with the qcf.M (crumple) then wave dash them like a mad man and get to the corner, or jump over them if you were in the corner. Also generally if you are right in the centre of the screen its best to do the launcher (after dashing them over a little bit) and you should end up in the corner, as well as the fist of Fury hyper carrying to the corner as well I believe.
Sorry for spamming your video with comments, but now I can see the answer to my question. 5 more minutes in training and I can see that using as few moves before the qcf+M as possible allows for more possibilites later in a combo. Which of course results in a much more powerful combo. Heh, I just love messing with that char, particularly the jump cancel after f+H in combos. Also, I'm a comic book nerd and I knew I'd use him before the launch. It's destiny :D
I love your combos. What I find sad is that usually the weak ones differ by around 50k from the strong ones. It does, however, allow for some creativity and leniency in his rekkas. Regardless, those are great combos and I'm stealing them ^^ Thank you. @Players wanting to try out Iron Fist He's weird because he's a footsie character. Instead of moving a lot, I prefer to simply patiently jump around with a H in the air just to be sure. I find it best not to open others up, but to punish them.
I love your combos! I'm blending some of what you've shown in the vid with some of the combos ive kinda come up with so far with him. but I'm having an issue with the jump combos with the FH into JH coming down into JS back into ground hits, is it all timing? either my JH isn't connecting coming up or i'm touching the ground before JS hits..is it timing? ps I play on a xbox controller**
I think it is mainly dependant on the hight of the character. It will flat out NOT work on small characters like Ammy Wolvy and Joe...y But taller characters like Sentinel Dormamu Strange etc are easier to hit. Timing wise you want to hit the j.H as EARLY as you can, whilst you are going up, and the you hit the j. S when you are at the peak of your jump to give it enough time to come out. Hope this helps, let us know if it did :)
I saw the first combo and was like I can do that. Went to work, rewound this vid a lot. Now I got the combo down pat. Then I watch the rest of the video and was like...... Dammit gonna have to spend a week in the lab
yeah man I kinda noticed I've always tried starting the combos with crouchingH into FH jH and I've noticed slanting my analog up/toward the target helps confirm and I'm starting to land both JH and JS now I just gotta practice it :P and then finish learning everything... I've always been super into iron fist it's just a pain when someone is using hawkeye etc I use to run IF,taskmaster, wesker but I haven't for a while. my main team is vergil, hawkeye, wesker lately or zero, hulk, deadpool
He has super armor on his Chi powerups. I've tricked a few Spencers and Hawkeyes that have 1 hit hyper combos by activating a Chi right as the Hyper hits. It hurts my health, but the punish opportunity is well worth it.
His sM and sH have great range. For example, when any Vergil player does a teleport, immediately sH on reaction. If he attacks, you ALWAYS catch him. If he teleports above you, his moves don't hit you as you move forward. If he teleports on the ground and blocks, just finish with a safe rekka, i.e. qcf+L ^^ Works for me 100% time. I hope it's the same against wesker, but will check it later... Of course they can use assists with that, then you're fucked :D
Haha well that first combo is actually one of the trickiest lol so if you can hit the qcb.H to qcf.H then the rest should come easily :) Just be careful after the forward+H attack before the rekkas. If you do them too early the forward input is read as a DP motion an you get the chi power up instead.
@Suavol from the wall. Otherwise I simply do the standard other combos to finish with double super. And whoever's playing Iron Fist HAS to love the Dragon Palm (qcf+H). It's awesome, and he knows it, 'cause he always says the move's name :D Also, what I do against characters that remain after two supers is... I don't do the second one. You can actually bounce them off the wall, press L, dash under and cross them. Even with and assist if you're quick enough. Just in case, my PSN is "Griever_PL"
@DubItLikeThat Almost every single one of those combos builds 1 bar of meter, so they are neutral up to the first super. If you go on to link into the second they obviously go negative 1. Still, the second super generally jumps the damage up from 700~k to 900~k, a worthwhile investment in meter I believe :)
@ProtonicShadow Yea I'm looking to make him a firm character in mine, I used him in the latest Jam Session (6) but only really started work on him after that.
I like to power up my fists right before the spirit of the dragon. O: Extra damage at no cost! just hit right trigger immediately after x! For the controller.
I got opened up by Iron fist 24/7 against this dude with that Tatsu Akuma assist. I lost 6 times in a row and I am by no means a bad player. I just couldn't believe how he got in so easy on me. I almost felt like some of the stuff he did to me was unblockable. I was using Viper/Doom/Strider btw.
Chances of opening up the opponent with Iron Fist alone: 40% Chances of opening up the opponent with Iron Fist with assist: 60% Chances of opening up the opponent with Wesker off a teleport: 80% Chances of opening up the opponent with Wesker off a teleport with assist: Dead character #FuckWesker
@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 Well, still palying Vanilla, I manage to get in with my team of Haggar on point, Thor secondary, and Wolverine anchor. Unless they run sent/doom with hidden missiles I think I can get in. Besides, not only is it more fun to have you favorite characters on point, but I think Iron fist will need assists to help him get in.
Yeah, that's true. But you don't want to really on a good assist. Once you loose that good assist and it's just your main. You need to know how to open up your opponent with your main character. Those who are only good because they have just good assist backing them up get "EXPOSED" real quick.
SPIRIT OF THE DRAGON!!!!
these are the best iron fist combos ive seen up to date! good stuff man

Spencer's diag. grapple assist works wonder for Iron Fist.
thank you netflix

this is cool just to listen to...nice

yo i wana make my iron fist as my bread n butter character feel me !! keep uploading man cuz u krazy wit this fool !!
I saw the first combo and was like I can do that. Went to work, rewound this vid a lot. Now I got the combo down pat. Then I watch the rest of the video and was like...... Dammit gonna have to spend a week in the lab
Its like someone merged Bang Shishigami from Blazblue and Fei Long. Simply Amazing.
Seems like his combos are pretty easy since you hardly ever have to leave the ground.
yeah man I kinda noticed I've always tried starting the combos with crouchingH into FH jH and I've noticed slanting my analog up/toward the target helps confirm and I'm starting to land both JH and JS now I just gotta practice it :P and then finish learning everything... The man with the dragon tattoo
@chiokjiro If you mean after the qcf. M to get red chi? Then ideally yes as it boosts your damage by 20% and you have a LOT of time to do it :)
Hey 8bitego, are these combos self-sufficient? Couldn't figure 'em out since meter started at 5...thanks! :)
His sM and sH have great range. For example, when any Vergil player does a teleport, immediately sH on reaction. If he attacks, you ALWAYS catch him. be great if you had button input displayed :P but overall really nice combo's
after the fist of fury hyper, what attack do you do next?
@DubItLikeThat Almost every single one of those combos builds 1 bar of meter, so they are neutral up to the first super. If you go on to link into the second they obviously go negative 1. its necesarry to do de dp motion?
@sacredonut He was using Storm also.
Looks like I will be using iron fist in ultimate when I get it.
@ssbbfan21656 he would say HWOOHAYA, in a high pitched voice
@leon1680 Yeah, they might end up in the air, or you can't get them to open up at all :( his overhead low mix ups are his best bet :P
I like to power up my fists right before the spirit of the dragon. O: Extra damage at no cost! just hit right trigger immediately after x! For the controller.
Open them up like a can of beans by just doing dash medium or dash hard works well for me.
@Suavol Shhh thats a spoiler for my breakdown lol ;)
iron fist is the bomb but his launcher puts him in shame and his open up enemies is hard
@DraciosV Iron Fist definitely needs assists to help him get in.
WOW...UNCANNY...
Nice
I wonder what Liu Kang would say about this?
@coulder Oh of course, i forgot about Falcon :)
Chances of opening up the opponent with Iron Fist alone: 40%
Chances of opening up the opponent with Iron Fist with assist: 60%
Chances of opening up the opponent with Wesker off a teleport: 80%

#FuckWesker
@leon1680 Totally agree
@DraciosV He's really hard to get in though. Might not want him on point.
Put Iron Fist in SFxT not Fei Long
This would be awesome if he didn't completely lack a mixup game. Only one low normal and a couple low specials that limit combo options. :\
Performing combos with Iron Fist is very fun. =D
Trying to open up the opponent with Iron Fist isn't. =(
Seems like Ghost Rider disliked the vid
WHERE THE ATTK BUTTON?? .-.
ATK means 2 attack buttons, for example light medium or heavy
@Shintroy where does that make sense lmfao
All are nice i would hate to cross you cuz dats some good shit
@DCXASIAN96 it was level 1
@8bitEGO I'll keep that in mind. Guess I'll need to team him up with Storm or maybe Iron man.
Wow...
@bigfishy14 More like Fei long and Captain Falcon
@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 Well, still palying Vanilla, I manage to get in with my team of Haggar on point, Thor secondary, and Wolverine anchor. Unless they run sent/doom with hidden missiles I think I can get in. Besides, not only is it more fun to have you favorite characters on point, but I think Iron fist will need assists to help him get in.
@FreshOffTheDamnBoat b. H, AKA Back + Hard :)
i miss game ready
